He really isn’t much like Alstott at all. I really don’t see why people make that comparison. Well, it’s inevitable because he’s a white RB I guess.

Scattebo’s comp is Mark Ingram followed by David Montgomery.

he's white, but he's also a bruiser type running back. That is where the similarities end though. He's very montgomery like. I haven't watched ingram enough, but I've heard that comp. before too.

So who else gets drafted for ISU? I know Kiper is kind is notorious for inaccuracy, but do we have reason to believe, given the evidence over the years, that guys like Higgins and Verdon slip all the way to the 6th or 7th round or go undrafted entirely?

Ingram was about the exact same build, ran in the low 4.6s, good catching balls out of the backfield, bounced off guys after contact.

Alstotts diversion from where the run was supposed to go was about 6” either direction. There was no bouncing plays, there were no cutbacks.

David Montgomery routinely gets run down from behind by defensive ends.

Doesn't stop him from being an all-pro level RB.
Montgomery is who Skattebo reminded me of. He is a tackle-breaking machine.

Alstott was more of an elusive fullback from I recall. He was a nice complement to Warrick Dunn

Higgins, Noel, and Porter are all day 2 guys. Jalen Travis maybe a flier in the later rounds. Singleton, Verdon, and Klotz, Hufford (if he’s done?) will get a camp invite. Purchase maybe too

Idk, I think Skattebo is a great college back, but I don't think he's a great NFL prospect. Probably late 3rd to 4th? Montgomery is not a great comparison. David had elite change of direction speed and vision which Skattebo hasn't really shown. My biggest concern with him is his tendency to lower the crown of his helmet to initiate contact. It's what makes him so good at running through contact, and it really concerns me going forward in terms of health and if it will work against the bigger and better players in the NFL.

he was a stud in college, but his top speed will hurt him in the NFL. at the very least for draft status
Guy has taken a lot of hits already. I think he will be pretty good for a couple years and then he's just going to break down taking that many hits.

first three teams in desperate need of QB. Wonder if the giants reach again for someone like Jaxon Dart. Very poor QB class overall. Hunter should be the clear number 1 but could drop all the way to 4 based on need.
This QB class would make me nervous. I heard Boomer Esiason say he wouldn't take any of these QB's in the Top 20.

Joining in on the Scattebo conversation: his running style will probably lead to a short career in the NFL. Running to contact is great when you’re bigger and better than everyone, but not so much when you’re on a level playing field. He’s likely to get injured pretty quickly seeking out contact all the time, and he isn’t fast enough to get consistently to the second level in the NFl.

He was electric in college and a lot of fun to watch, but so was Troy Davis and he barely had a cup of coffee in the NFL.

I’m not a GM but I wouldn’t. Not worth it.

Shaduer is the only one I would consider taking in the top 10.

Beck? Not a chance I’d take him in the first 3 rounds. He looked good throwing to Bowers and McConkey, but who wouldn’t.

Cam Ward is interesting, and I imagine he will get drafted in the top 10, but it’s more due to lack of competent QBs than anything. If he goes to a bad team, I don’t see him being able to elevate them himself. The Giants and Browns have some lives in place skill wise, so he could succeed in those spots potentially.

Sanders played really well behind an average to below average OL and with decent but not greatly skilled (except for Hunter) receivers. He looks like he can process well and get the ball in the right spot. The main question with him is attitude and if he can humble himself be a good teammate, and not toss his team under the bus when things go wrong.

I feel like he has the same speed as David Montgomery and he did fine. My biggest concern would be injuries. You just don’t make a living trucking dudes in the nfl.

Exactly. IIRC David hardly ever took a squared up hit. Cam basically invites it with the way he runs, and powers through. Unless you’re Derrick Henry, those backs don’t last long in the NFL
