Some of that is the students being gone. Some is it wasn’t a super competitive game.

Yeah, we jumped out to an early lead and even during our bad stretch in the first half they only pulled within 5.

Crowd probably would have woken up if Baylor had pulled it a bit closer, but since it wasn't the crowd stayed kind of sleepy. Even during the bad stretch it still felt like we were clearly the better team and would eventually pull away (we did)

the only time the crowd really got into it was that quick run that pushed it over 20. the game overall was just one of those slow, grinding game where the lead just grows by a point or two every few minutes and at some point it's just gotten out of hand and you ask "wow - when did that happen?"

like I said in a previous post - I like the boring, predictable, drama-free blowouts. it really doesn't matter to me if the crowd wasn't in it.

Hilton has always been quiet during the winter term unless it's some particular landmark game, which this was not. The 2000/2001 celebration also wasn't advertised very well.

It was a landmark game with the old guys coming back and it seems like everyone knew about it which is why tickets were extra expensive.

Certainly better than the alternatives. But for those who get to hilton less often (like a friend I brought today who was in town from out of state), its more fun when hilton gets rocking. Its just a special environment when it gets that way.

Well I'll let @Sigmapolis do the computer stuff, but that was some pretty solid defense by my eye test.
I expected a closer game than this. Baylor's cold shooting did them no favors but part of that was our defense IMO.

This was the one game I was going to make it to Hilton for, but 8+ inches of snow in KC mean I have to head back a day early. Still hoping to catch this one by the time I’m back!
Hope you had safe travels!!

We had Chatty and JJ in foul trouble in the 1st half and were still playing after 2 fouls each. Jackson only gets 18 minutes/game. Not sure what happens if Chatty and JJ get benched with fouls. Watson? Or just play 3g + Milan + Jackson?

I think TJ said near the end of the non-con that Watson was dealing with a foot injury.

He's also just not as good as Heise.

One good thing about today when you are ahead by 20 in the last four or five minutes, you hold the ball more and have less defensive possessions to guard against. That’s important to have when most of the games can be a grind that wears you down towards the end of the season. My hope is that Auburn has a ton of games that go down to the wire and wear on them by the time the NCAA tournament rolls along. IMHO.
