Crooks had too many turnovers tonight and no one besides Ryan and Crooks was a threat. That’s the story tonight. As for missing the tournament…that’s ridiculous talk right now. Look at it in ten games.
both Brown and Jackson need to score and Harris and the bench must score. don't have to have 20 points from them but have to be a threat to shoot and score. I haven't won as many games as BF and not trying to tell him how to do it but just feel that there is very little chemistry right now.

Said it earlier: she’s a very emotional player. She pouts a lot. She complains to the refs. When her shots aren’t hitting, she’s not giving full effort and it’s obvious.
She is very confident in herself, very talented, but I agree she seems to not give full effort at times, maybe a little over confident compared to consistent results.

Need more than 10 points from those not named Crooks, Ryan or Brown.

Feels like she’s in a cage with the offensive forcing.
I worry she may head elsewhere next year. Has a lot of potential and needs to be coached and in the right system with movement and ball reversal she would be a great second scoring option. We do no back screens or backdoor cuts but instead dribble and send it down low. I thought both Audi and Addy made nice kick out passes tonight but our shooters continued to miss wide open 3s and Utah would go down and basically make the same shot. They were really right there but could not get over the hump really due to unbelievably bad 3 point shooting.

I think she’s very confident when her shots are hitting. I honestly think she lacks confidence. It’s like she thinks her scoring determines her worth. Like “missing shots = I suck.”

When the shots aren’t going in her body language and effort are terrible.

When they start going in, she’s got all that swagger (see first half of Iowa).

The confidence and effort have to be there whether the shots are going in or not.

Seems to be a disappointing season to me. Lots of talent on this team, don't know that it is being used properly. Crooks is an absolute liability on defense. This creates holes all over defensively for the team. I thought Kansas did a good job of exploiting that for the most part. Lots of work to do, if ISU misses out on NCAA tourney....that would be extremely bad.

Wouldn’t be surprised either. We need a spurt here. Roles seem undefined, bad body language, just not a lot of joy happening. Things just seem significantly “off”.

When I've caught women's games in the past few years there seemed to be some speed there to make up for size for both ends and I don't see that with this team

I feel that the quickest person on the team is KJ but for some reason she is not on the court.

I hope our team chemistry is really good because this season has not doubt been trying for the women on the team. Expectations were very high and I’m sure they all saw things going differently for each of them individually. No one can be happy. We need some success.

We have no one scoring except Ryan and Crooks. Brown has been terrible today, AJ and Harris won’t shoot. Tanke can’t hit. 25% from deep compared to Utah at 50%.
Lily Hansford is now 3-27 from three (11.1%), after shooting 44.9% last year. She would need to make her next 17 to just get back to that %. I am really rooting she can get it going, as I would love to have an assassin come in off the bench.

We’ll miss Ryan. What do we have coming in for guards? We need help in the guard court big time. Athleticism, kids that can defend and kids that can knock down shots.
I think Reagan Wilson has some potential at PG. She missed some time earlier with injury but with Ryan on a minutes limit has been playing more. She has some speed that we are lacking and I really like the spunk/swagger she has regardless if she is on the floor or not. We only signed 2 in the 2025 class.

Both are guards, Beaty is a PG and supposedly is a similar player to Ryan. Jackson possibly could play PG some again too like she did last year when Ryan was out but she probably prefer to play an off guard role.

What our issues boil down to is we are not a great defensive team and we don't have enough consistent scorers on the team. Bill was on KXNO last week and said the goal is to get 40 combined from Audi and Addy with Audi in the mid to low 20's and Addy somewhere in the 14-16 PPG. Mentioned he would like to see Addy be more aggressive taking shots too. The problem is if those 2 do get 40 we need at least 3 more to combine for another 30+ to be in the game. Look at tonight, Audi had 29 and Addy 10, there is 39 so almost the 40 Bill was talking about then you have Ryan go for 18 which is not typical for her and no one else on the team has any more than 3 points. Need players like Harris, Jackson, and Joens to be those players who at least 2 of the 3 go for 10+ along with Ryan and there is your 70+

Jackson has to find a way to take more than 3 shots when she plays 36 minutes. I get that she is our best on-ball defender but for a team lacking scoring options she has to find some more shots if she is going to play 30+ minutes consistently. She's averaging 3.8 attempts over 21.5 mpg on the season. Not sure why Joens is not seeing more minutes, she's one of our better defensive players and is actually playing about 5.5 minutes a game less than last year but still is shooting the 3 over 37% Harris feels like she could be one of the ones to step into that needed scoring role too but she's not been consistent there either. I used to feel like when we were playing too many players that was part of our problem getting players to settle into roles but Bill has tightened up the bench rotation and minutes in conference play and we still haven't seen that translate into a couple players stepping up offensive production.

Don’t kill me, just a question. How many years does Bill have left?
