Probably doesn't make sense for that job given they'll be looking for an offensive coach. He should get another job if he wants it, I think a veteran team like the Jets would be a good fit

I think a retirement home would be a better fit.

Jerod Mayo is out.

I'm pretty cool with Kraft not even giving his franchise a chance to rebuild. He was spoiled by 20 years of unfettered success and has forgotten you don't build a Super Bowl contender overnight. Whether Mayo is the right coach or not - who knows. What I do know is New England is devoid of talent and apparently that isn't an excuse there.

Brady covered up a lack of offensive talent for quite a few years. Perhaps Kraft has a warped idea of what is needed to field a competitive team.

He wasn't qualified to begin with so it's hard for me to feel too bad that he was only given a year (same for Pierce in Oakland)

Vrabel should be the choice here just as it should have last year.

Early on I'd say probably in terms of attractiveness

1. Jaguars - still have Lawrence, relatively weak division but fickle Owner and lack of stability
2. Bears- Williams showed promise but man, brutal division and lack of stability at HC
3. Jets - some young talent, but the salary cap and what Rodgers does is a big factor
4. Patriots - Maye looked OK, but there are a ton of needs and I'd imagine Vrabel will be announced relatively soon

On paper, the Jaguars job seems to be the best available so far, but Lawrence might be a coach killer where he'll have some incredible performances that get the fans and intelligentsia excited but his inconsistent play will end up with them looking for your replacement in two years.

I think the Patriots are a low key good landing spot. The qb looks like a keeper so you'll have a high draft pick that you can use on the best non qb available which is always an enviable position.
