I thought Kyle would probably stick with Campbell wherever he was.

Probably a slow rise in promotions at Iowa State. If he goes and has a successful 2-3 years at Drake, it probably speeds things up. I'd be a leap, but not out of the realm of possibility of getting the OC job with Campbell in 2-3 years if it opened up. Without that experience, it wouldn't even be possible.

I missed the Stepsis to UNI move, and Joe Woodley getting the Drake job. But it is great to see Kyle going to coach under another former Cyclone!
so happy for Kyle to get this job. Even though it’s a loss for the program. It’s also very positive for support staff members to move on to full time coaching positions

What would the OC job at Drake pay?
Looks like UNI paid their OC $120kish. Guessing Kyle is getting $80-$90kish given Drake is no scholly. If he does well their he’ll have FBS programs ready to offer substantially more.

As someone who watches a lot of Drake football this is exciting. Yes, Drake won the past two years but boy their offense was frustrating to watch.

The way I think of this.
KK leaving is a good thing in the long run. If he succeeds at Drake he will be a great candidate to replace Mouse when/if he gets poached. Will hopefully work out his growing pains as a play caller and come back to Ames ready to run a P5 offense.

Maybe my #1 favorite moment as a Cyclone fan was driving down to Norman OK in Sept. 2017 and watching our 5th year, 3rd string QB named Kyle Kempt slay the mighty Sooners in their own house. I let out a blood curdling scream in the middle of an absolutely stunned Oklahoma stadium when the play below happened. I wasn't sure we'd make it out of the stadium alive but I didn't give a rip because I was on cloud 9.
