KSU is a lot better than their record indicates the are, they have done a nice job of righting the ship after a horrible start to their season. Like Arizona they are long and give teams a battle on the glass. Tang may be jerk, but the guy can coach. Get the feeling his team is going to do some damage down the road.
Agree on this being a bad loss but KState may have one of the top 3 rosters in our league. Watching this in Hilton and I kept wondering at what position we were better. Hawkins has been a disappointment but at 6'10 he handled the ball like a guard and McDaniel continually blew by whoever was guarding him. We still lack stud athletes.

Unfortunately it won’t be enough to fix this if this continues. Hard to say what is going on, but this team must be so mentally broken after the trip to Tucson.
I don't think it's Tucson, I just think they hit a wall and it happens to coincide with tgat trip. Happens every year with TJ teams.

If we were Kansas, ranked #3, playing in Allen Fieldhouse, and lost at home to in-state rival K-State by 19, it would be the worst loss in school history.

For Iowa State, it’s just another nut kick 5 days after a historic nut kick.

It's not Milan, it doesn't help but this idea that somehow he makes up for what happened today is not right.

They hit a wall and need to work through it. He wil help cause he will be fresh, but he isn't going to fix this overnight.
Milan isn't all of it, but he definitely helps. He provides a ton of spacing and some length on the floor that opponents have to dedicate more resources to.

I think I'm missing Rob Jones a bit, too. He had the toughness to body up in this conference and got better each season.

TCU was actually good and was a 9 seed in the tournament. OSU might have also been better than this ksu team and we didn’t lose as bad
We scored 36 ******* points against OSU. It was much worse. TCU was bad because we were nearly a top 10 teams and got smoked. This one may be worse then TCU, but that OSU game was the worst thing I have ever seen.

I completely wasn’t thinking about that 36 point outing. Had forgot that one for some reason. Yeah that was really bad. Was 2022 in TJs first year. I don’t know what TCU one you are talking about. We weren’t close at all to top 10

Edit, dang I forgot how good of a record start the Brockington team had. Forgot they were 15 going into that. Still a far better team than this ksu one

Yeah I just don’t know how ya spin it other than being - in the context of this season (i.e. expectations, ratings thus far, etc) one of our worst home losses ever.

What a truly awful week. It’s such a massive bummer that in year 4 - a year when we supposedly had leveled up and all the efficiency numbers tell a story that we’re “good” on both sides of the ball - that THIS type of game is still very much in the range of outcomes. And we’ve had 2 of them in the last couple of weeks.

Just looked. We were as high as #8 early in conference play and we're #15 when we lost to TCU

Yes. This team will be a sweet sixteen exit at best once again. Probably a 2 or 3 seed again. I’m fine with it but I won’t watch. At some point I need to have a realistic hope we can achieve a milestone like that. I’ll keep contributing to the athletics program and NIL but I have many better things to do on a Tuesday night
You might need a new hobby. This one is clearly making you angry and irrational. Just take a breath, this is a great team that had a bad day. It happens. It’s a long season and even the best teams have stinkers. Once we are healthy and locked in, we will make a run. Just flush it and move on.

I hear you and share the pain. Our top regular season goals are likely off the table but let’s see where the story ends especially if we stay healthy and Milan comes back at full strength. Houston crashed and burned last year due to injury and they arguably should have been the #1 overall seed.

Are we at 'What a failure!! Only a 2 or 3 seed and a Sweet Sixteen!' level of weirdness for Iowa State?
