I generally don't like fish or seafood. I wouldn't mind trying Lobster but I'm not ordering the most expensive item on the menu on the off chance I might like it.
Personally, I prefer shrimp and scallops and would choose either over lobster

Chili's restaurant is extremely meh. Ate there a few times, never got a good meal.
Have you been recently? I used to feel the same way but went again about a year ago and have been back many times since. It helps that my daughter actually eats there and doesn't throw a tantrum.

Agreed. Lobster is fine, but the traditional "boiled/steamed with drawn butter" preparation is pretty bland. There are much better ways to make it.

And, other shellfish eclipse it significantly.

My wife and kids love Chick-Fil-A and I've just never understood it. It's not bad, but it's not worth waiting in line for.

When it comes to food etc there is not much I "hate" I have never really hated too many things, maybe not preferred but absolutely hate not so much, although cooked beets, absolutely disgusting. Oh and Liver, my parents loved liver and onions, I couldn't even stand being in the house when my mom made it growing up. :puke:

Seltzers of any kind, alcoholic or the old seltzer water soda crap. YUCK!!

Extreme sour candy, the kind that makes your jaw hurt, not a fan. A little sour kick is ok, but the really really sour stuff, no thanks.

I honestly have never been a fan of authentic Mexican restaurants, The runny refried beans etc. I have always been more partial to more Tex Mex style. I know probably not a popular take, but that being said I just don't have a lot of experiences to really compare because I just always choose something other than Mexican when going out, so I guess it might just be lack of actual knowledge than dislike.

Chick Fil A, is overrated. I have only been there a couple times and really just seems way overrated. Its fine but I didn't find anything to be that special, especially for the hype the place gets.

Smashburgers type places, like at Culvers, Freddy's etc, overrated. Give me a nice thick juicy burger, not overcooked smashed paper thin wafers that are claiming to be a burger. I will take a BBops burger over anything Culvers, Freddys, etc. Also the fact that Culvers over salts everything is gross too, I don't want salt on their crappy cheese balls they claim are wisconsin style that are not even close to actual Wisconsin style cheese curds.

I have eaten at exactly 1 cracker barrel and it was terrible. Maybe it was just a bad location or something, but it was really bad and ruined it for ever wanting to go back.

And The Machine Shed in DM, only been there once, terrible service, extremely slow, mediocre food at best. Might have been a one off thing that evening, but was really not impressed.

Their corporate office will never admit it but Chick Fil A quality is all about the franchise owner. The owners that have "newer" up and coming stores are usually all over things and they typically put out a really good product. Franchise owners are HEAVILY incentivized to grow their sales/revenue annually. I'm talking trips, huge bonuses, and free vehicles. I know owners of a location and they have received a brand new vehicle for like 5 straight years. These aren't leases, they own them outright and they are not low end vehicles. Eventually your store hits a point where you can't grow sales to meet some of these bonus criteria's and that's when things start to fall off. When I lived in coastal VA Chick Fil A was never very good but these were all old established stores.

I freaking love Bings. I grew up in NW IA and you used to be able to go to Palmer Candy Co and buy a bag of defects/rejects for dirt cheap. We would keep them in the freezer and I loved gnawing on a frozen Bing.

I saw that they now have caramel Bings.

I'm a bit surprised with all the Culver's hate, but to each their own. This is a safe place.

I generally like Culvers but I will say that several of the DSM area locations have gotten really inconsistent. They also changed their cheese curd recipe/supplier a couple years back and they aren't the same.

Crumbl Cookie - not worth the hype at all. Waiting for them to go under much like frozen yogurt places 15-20 years ago.

I will slightly disagree because some of their cookies are freaking awesome. The problem is they don't make some of those very often.

Where do crab legs rank for you?
I’m just curious. I love fish, scallops, shrimp and crab. Lobster doesn’t do much for me.
This post reminded me of going to a Joe's Crab shack a few years ago. The crab legs were difficult to crack and had very little crab meat on them. I eventually gave up after a while and left the place still hungry. It tasted fine, just way too much work. I'm not a regular seafood eater so likely just inexperience on my part. I ended up stopping at McDonalds on the way home.

This is a good one. I like cookies well enough but I'm never seeking out a cookie. If they are laying around? Awesome. But I'm not driving somewhere and waiting in line for it.

Crab is definitely an effort, and the results are sometimes pretty meager. Still quite tasty, though.
