Enough people seem to forget that they have firearms in their bags, and are generally let off for it, i think we can ignore a few grams of weed.

A good friend of mine took a handgun out shooting one night.

Put it in his bag. Forgot about it when he grabbed it to go to the airport.

Oops.

No more TSA Precheck and a $13,000 fine.

He probably lives in a state where it's legal and there aren't any issues getting on a plane with it. I can see this happening very easily.
Its still illegal federally, so it is illegal to fly everywhere. TSA is Federal.

Im all for legalizing it.

Im also smart enough to know you cant fly with it, at least at this point until it becomes federally legal, everywhere.

But someone here said they just let you "let off for it"

My guess is his punishment will be quite a bit less than if he had a weapon.

It’s extremely easy to fly with it…in and out of state where it’s not legal. You just have sort of hide (don’t put in in the tray when you are going through security). Guessing he probably had it in his pocket or something.

Might be true, but also still illegal, and very easily can get caught.

I look at it the same way, as those driving 15mph+ more than the speed limit, then complaining they got a ticket, by a camera or officer, because they got away with it every other day. Doesnt make it legal, and one day the luck will run out.

If you are willing to do the crime, then you better be willing to do the time, regardless of how many times you have gotten away with it, or how minor you think the offense is. You cant knowingly do something illegal then complain when you get caught.

Way up there
Had he made the drive to KC, he would've been safe. It's pretty easy when you're in a legal state to forget you have it on you and no one there will care.

People still get arrested for weed possession? Thats so 2000.
I got arrested in 2000 for having a bag of seeds and stems in my jacket. Actually, it was a friend's jacket that I borrowed and I had no idea that baggie was even in one of the pockets. Who carried around a bag of seeds and stems? Weird! Anyways, cops forgot to read me my rights so case dismissed.
