I'm trying to determine if I should leave the office at noon to get my kid from daycare and get home before the snow gets really heavy. Our usual commute time would be 4 p.m.

Not exactly sure.
I couldn't even get mine to start up, I had used it once before this winter, when out on Tuesday to fill it up and crank it over, and would not start. Tried against yesterday, drained the gas out of the filter, plenty of oil and still will not start. Called a dealer here in Ames and they are supposed to send someone out to pick it up this afternoon. So I ended up scooping the drive and the back porch. Broke my best snow shovel and had to dig out an old one.
Not looking forward to more snow and scooping this weekend, but I guess it has to be done.

I think I'm about two winters away from having the neighbor kids do it. Had a back surgery 28 years ago and it's catching up with me.
Aren’t you guys married? I mean, isn’t that why you got married?

My snowblower started, but something is goofy with the choke on it. Was basically either sputtering and then dying, or sounded like a 747 taking off. Really no in between. Managed to get the main part of the drive done before I gave up and grabbed the shovel.

I had this happen in my snow blower prep. I ended up just taking it in to get it fixed. Much fewer headaches. They even picked it up and dropped it back off for 20 bucks.

Last year I had to call the city to take care of huge pile of infront of our house. During one of the big ones, they only made 1 pass and since my house is on a slight curve in the street, they had the blade directing snow to our side. The pile was like 4 feet high by 6 foot wide. Covered from my driveway to the middle of the road. I could not shovel or plow through it with my snow blower. To their credit, they sent the plow back out hours later and cleared the rest of the street.
Oh man.

My wife stayed home yesterday and I suggested that she could keep the driveway clear and I just got the look.
My wife is a former farm girl. She has no issues cleaning snow when she works from home and I go into the office. I don't even have to ask. In fact, sometimes I ask her not to do it since we have a steep driveway and being graceful isn't her strong suit.

44" on the front of my LA145 mower. Got the mower for free from a family member and used a plow for years. Found a snowblower for cheap and fixed it up. It's a huge overkill for our house but can't beat the right price

My wife falls down on flat, dry surfaces

February is an awful month. Winter grows tiresome and some of the coldest bs all year occurs in this sucky month
Wife and I had a few errands to run around Ames an hour ago and we were saying the exact same thing. February is a great month to take a cruise and not January like we did this year. Get to this time of the season, and you are getting tired of the cold, and waiting until now or a little later, the give the ocean a chance to warm up just a little bit more.

February is my birthday month and it still is my least favorite.
