Most people don't seem to like 2012, but I kind of like it. Maybe because of just how thorough and total the destruction was on such a large scale. It was so over the top but I enjoyed it.

I agree that the special effects of the actual disasters were really fun to watch. I'll add Greenland. I really enjoy that one.

Maybe even Geostorm.

The day after

As a GenXer this movie is ingrained in my memory. But if it is too "upbeat" for you try watching Threads. It's an earlier British version of nuclear war with bleakness that makes Day After seem like a Disney movie.

Agree!! Decent, suspenseful story with really good special affects.

Contagion is incredibly well made. Watching it post Covid-19 pandemic it's crazy how well they nailed it.
