I'd rather make the final four. I just don't by into the 3 vs 4 seed talk. You have to potentially beat a 1 and 2 seed, and you could argue having more time to prepare for the one seed than the 2 seed would be a benefit.

Yes, but isn't the whole point of seeding to avoid playing those teams until as late in the tournament as possible?
If we make the Elite 8 that will be a historic run. If we make the Sweet 16 it will just be on par with some other Sweet 16 seasons like 2014, 2016, 2022 where we flamed out.

Final 4 is historic. Not a huge difference between 16 and 8 in my mind. I think a healthier Gilbert gives you a chance at the 4

I want the best chance at final 4 and Gilbert down time probably gives ISU that chance.

I'd say you're in the minority. Our Elite 8 team was the most talked about in school history. Nobody remembers much about some of the Sweet 16s except we got blown out by teams like Virginia and Miami.
Final 4 would be more talked about. A healthier Gilbert gives you a better chance. He ain't able to play they have a low shot at elite 8 no matter who they play.
