I'm not worried about dropping below a 4. It's all the same at that point, we'll have to face Auburn or Duke if we even make the Sweet 16.

The real problem is falling from a 3 to a 4.
Is it though? Wouldn't you rather have 3-4 days to prepare for a 1 seed rather then a day?

No, because I'd rather make the Elite 8 over the Sweet 16? I didn't think that was debatable.
I'd rather make the final four. I just don't by into the 3 vs 4 seed talk. You have to potentially beat a 1 and 2 seed, and you could argue having more time to prepare for the one seed than the 2 seed would be a benefit.

Have to play them at some time
Yes, but isn't the whole point of seeding to avoid playing those teams until as late in the tournament as possible?

If we make the Elite 8 that will be a historic run. If we make the Sweet 16 it will just be on par with some other Sweet 16 seasons like 2014, 2016, 2022 where we flamed out.

Final 4 is historic. Not a huge difference between 16 and 8 in my mind. I think a healthier Gilbert gives you a chance at the 4

Good my job is done here
One is a group of 2nd runners up the other is 3rd runner ups. Oh boy
I'd say you're in the minority. Our Elite 8 team was the most talked about in school history. Nobody remembers much about some of the Sweet 16s except we got blown out by teams like Virginia and Miami.

Final 4 would be more talked about. A healthier Gilbert gives you a better chance. He ain't able to play they have a low shot at elite 8 no matter who they play.
