That was a horrible foul called against Belmont. My god. Stirtz did nothing all possession and gets bailed out by the refs then they T up the coach. This team ain’t auto bid material lol
Yet their metrics and NET are WAY higher than Drake.I just peeked at that schedule. Woof.
I don't even like Oklahoma, its you guys who keep singling them out and I simply look at one resume and see its clearly better. I look at the resumes as they are brought up. There's nothing about Drake that looks like a top 50 team, much less an at large. Nothing in terms of signature wins, and a couple of terrible losses (not to mention narrowly skirting some quad 4 losses in OT).
Gonna depend on what other conference tourney's do and if there are bidstealersAnd while the annual "why I hate Steve Prohm because he just plain sucks" thread is up and running let's not forget one of those losses this year is to Steve Prohm......in Des Moines. So as far as I'm concerned, anyone who allows Steve Prohm to come into their house and beat them not only be banned from the tourney..........but put on probation.
To be serious....if they don't win their conference tourney they will probably be in just by the amount of wins they have. I have seen them and there is nothing that goes........WOW! But with almost thirty wins........I'm sure someone in the committee can make the case to be in the "play in" games.
First time watching Drake. It’s very painful. They take EVERY offensive possession down to the buzzer, literally.Ben McCollum seems like a Steve Prohm type. Zero offense just seems what Stirtz can do. He dribbles for most of the shot clock…
They are not very fun to watch, at all.First time watching Drake. It’s very painful. They take EVERY offensive possession down to the buzzer, literally.
That said, I’d still prefer to see them vs a bubble B10 or SEC team
I think 1 will come from American conference. Memphis has played a lot of close games this year. If given them or field think I lean field. Mwc could be another that's always a competitive tournament and they don't have as many at larges this year than past fewGonna depend on what other conference tourney's do and if there are bidstealers
I think Ben is a good basketball mind, but I agree I don’t get good vibes from him in terms of a P5 job. I don’t think it would be successful long term. Iowa is better off spending the money if they can to try and get DeVries or someone similar.Ben McCollum seems like a Steve Prohm type. Zero offense just seems what Stirtz can do. I really hope he goes there, tries to win games scoring in the 50s, and that fan base immediately has PTSD from the Lick era.I think Ben is a good basketball mind, but I agree I don’t get good vibes from him in terms of a P5 job. Maybe both of them.It is a travesty that someone in this Indiana - Ohio State game is probably going to eat up a tourney spot.
You would expect more maturity from a guy who just turned 25.Auburn’s Baker-Mazara has to be one of the softest, cocky, unlikable players I’ve seen this year.
We don’t even know that DeVries is any good at a major conference levelI think Ben is a good basketball mind, but I agree I don’t get good vibes from him in terms of a P5 job. NCAA postseason is just weird (both FB and BB), only major sports I know of where eligibility for the postseason for most teams is determined by committee instead of by winning.IF you are the 14th best team in your conference, you shouldn't make the tournament, and the fact Oklahoma is on the bubble just shows how much we have lost the plot
