Brett Yormark and anyone calling for tournament expansion are just absolutely wrong. You’d have at-larges this year at .500 or even losing records just to fill the field. I don’t care that it’s all about money and even that we might benefit, it’s just wrong.
I would rather see a small school get in for the chance of a Cinderella story than putting in some mid big conference school. The Drake conversation was accurate that their resume could be considered suspect but that is all mid majors with scheduling gimmicks. Would rather see Drake or any other mid-major get a chance than an overpaid, under-coached Texas team play another game.

For the love of the game!

So would I, but increasing to 76 would add 0-1 of those kinds of teams each year. Maybe you get one more mid-major, but it’s mostly going to be 1-2 more teams each from the biggest leagues.

Exactly. If you want to expand to allow mid majors, okay I could get on board. But would rather just put MMs in now and stop the conference circle…jerking (not sure what’s filtered). I don’t need another mildly interested team from an ESPN sponsored conference put in for alleged ratings.

Kansas about to be destroyed
Be still my beating heart.

Not a big Caleb Love fan but seeing him dive for loose balls softened my opinion a little I mean lots of check cashers wouldn’t make a business decision there.

Tommy Lloyd with more props for the B12 in his post-game interview. I've been really impressed with how complimentary he has been of the league. He seems appreciative of the opportunity to be a part of it.
I agree but wait til his teams are losing. It will be about travel, the long traveling, and the home court of teams in Kansas City

It may not look good starting tomorrow though with no ISU\KSU\KU in competition. Resale prices on firesale.
Which would be sad since it's the top 4 teams. I feel like BYU and Arizona fans will show out. There seemed to be quite a few at both their games. Houston is an odd team. For how good they are I feel like their fan base is pretty apathetic towards the team. I think Tech fans may travel now that tomorrow is a Friday. Certainly wouldn't be as packed as ISU and KU advancing

Houston
Houston doesn't travel. They have good attendance for home games, but sadly that's it. You go to a local Houston bar to watch the game but the game's likely not on and there is no one there to care to know they are playing.

The other day I noticed the age of players for the Bama Auburn games.
This is basically Kenpom's "typical lineup."
Lets compare the SEC vs B12

Bama 4 seniors
Auburn 4 seniors
FL 3 seniors
TN 4 seniors
UK 4 seniors

Houston 2 seniors
Tech 2 seniors
Zona 1 senior
BYU 2 seniors
ISU 3 seniors

A justifiable reason why the SEC was the best conference this year.

Will be interesting if the SEC model is going to be to buy up teams to replace all those seniors or if they’re going to go through a rebuilding process. Certainly their football programs have no issue purchasing players that have developed in other programs, but that gets expensive. Is basketball important enough for them to spend that money?
