I realize it a ways off but a replacement for Lipsey as a true pg option is needed. The freshman coming in don't seem like that guy. I'd think this off-season we consider taking a sophomore pg that can backup Lipsey getting about 8-10min a game next year and hopefully take over in 26
You might be right. But until we see Touri and Batemon play college basketball, we don't know they can't be our Tamin/Gilbert replacements long-term. And maybe TJ is OK with not having a Tamin clone as ISU's future PG.

I look at schools like BYU, Arizona and neither has a PG that is in the Tamin mold. They have longer guards that can dribble, distribute, defend and make 3's. With their length & vertical they can drive and finish in traffic without much effort.

A lot depends on roster turnover this spring. If we keep our core guys: Lipsey, Heise, Momcilovic and Jefferson, I would expecrt priority 1 to be a proven scoring guard. And second priority a rim-protecting post (a lot depending on Jackson & Rock development).

Gray is listed as a PG in 26. My guess is unless they think Batemon or Toure are the answer they’ll get a bridge transfer to ease the freshman in.

He has improved from having a bad shot…to a not good shot

Fair to be optimistic, but the statement was one of the best shooting classes ever. That’s not true. Only Batemon is a plus shooter

Maybe it was meant scorers? Batemon, Toure, and Moore can all get down hill to the bucket. Mitchell is crafty as a 6’6” power forward, and Pleta can drive for his height

Tamin might be lucky that he's gonna be graduated by the time Yusef gets here or else he might lose his starting job to a freshman. That kid is lightning quick with a fantastic game.
I like your optimism. But I think with the state of where our program is now TJ would still want to have a vet to be able to run the show for a year after Tamin departs. We know how this staff adapts so if the kid really is all that I’m sure they’d find a way to coincide
