People in the know said WVU wasn't worried about holding off Iowa. Still, Indiana was problematic, given Devries is from the Midwest and is old enough to recall their distant glory. WVU has a much better track record on the court this century and would have matched Indiana's offer.

Who will win the battle for the Drake coach? Wren Baker was his AD at one of his stops, so they have a prior relationship. I also KNOW WVU's NIL situation is far better. WVU also has one of the best practice facilities in the country,

How is DD being BG's top choice any simpler or straighter than BM being BG's top choice?

One guy she could talk to immediately, one guy she couldn't. Just because she could talk to DD immediately doesn't mean he's automatically her top choice.
P4 experience with reasonable success, already buzz from the fanbase, tag-along P4 player, could maybe help avert a mass-exodus by being immediately available and known to the players.

I said you are correct. Only she and her staff (and maybe DD) know for sure.

One thing is for sure: the UofI AD will say that whoever signs was their top target all along. So I guess we’ll never know whether it really was or wasn’t… other than that creeping suspicion that future Sweet Sixteen perennial Indiana got the one that got away…

He may have been born in Iowa City, but wva isnt unlike iowa, and he and wren baker have an existing relationship.

Also. WVU's big donors are incensed, and the wallet is open.

If WV want to float a conspiracy theory, its far more likely that Iowa and DeVrie's agent had conversations during the year and he knew that job was likely to open at the end of the year and maybe they shut Tucker down when he could have come back late in the year. All signs point to IU getting swooping in at the end and convincing DeVries to go there instead of Iowa.
Those rumors have been flying all year in IC about Tucker playing for Iowa next year.
