Anyone use the Upside App when buying gas? I heard a commercial about it and decided to try it. Haven't used it for gas yet but curious what everyone's feedback on it is.

Much easier now that you just have to link the CC you used for the purchase, rather than take a picture of the receipt

Really only saves like 5-10 cents per gallon.
Commercial makes me laugh when the person says they got like $200 in cash

Could probably make decent money if you drive a lot for work

I've used it and have made probably $75 or so in 18 months with the app. Used it for an Amazon gift card so that was cool

Yep. $574 in just under 2 years. I travel a fair amount for work and share the account with my wife to keep it all on one. All goes to Amazon gift cards.
I've earned a couple hundred dollars in a couple of years. It just takes clicking your phone 3 times and you get a dollar or so.

Is that the one on the radio where they say the average american is spending $5,000 a year on gas?

I’ve used it for about a year and earned about $60. Doesn’t work at more than half the stations. I just pick stations the way I always have and then check the app before pumping to see if there is an Upside rebate to be had. I drive about 20,000 miles per year.

Just downloaded the app. It's listing a reward of 35-43 cents on premium. I assume it drops way back after using it a time or two?

Yeah there's usually a 25 cent bonus the first time you use it. And that bonus will continue to show for a few days after you use it the first time.

Generally I get 5-15 cents at Casey's. And yes, I schedule my fill ups based on what I can get.

I need premium in the car and put on about 30k a year. The rewards for premium seem pretty significant over 87/89. I might actually have to start using this. I had never heard of it before this thread.

I will add. To truly get the most return you have to realize that it is a pyramid scheme type thing. You get a bonus for inviting others, them joining and you get a cent or so for every gallon they use it on. Get enough people under you and there you go.

We use, but not always. Nice to make a few bucks! My sister uses it often and puts it on gift card every time they get built up to $50.00.

I’ve used Upside for a while and have over $100 in 8t. There are some restaurants that take it for 5, 7% off. I also use Gas Buddy to find the best gas prices. You can use both on the same fill up.

My wife (no pics) and I use it most of the time. Best feature is that it shows the net prices at the participating stations so you can choose the best deal. Coupled with a Sam's CC (5.0% cash back) we usually save at least $0.25 per gallon.

It doesn't work at the closest 5 or 6 stations to my house. I don't really like to get gas at Casey's
