With the amount of posts I've seen from you, how do you have time enough time in the day considering this isn't even one of your real life priorities?
It's Sunday and I work M-F. Go ahead and spend all your extra cash on ISU athletics. Watching you people get your panties in a bunch over **** like this makes me feel better about my own life. I'd rather make pay my mortgage than a 19 year old power forward. Glad you're doing that well in life. I wouldn't give money to the NIL if I was a multi-millionaire. Id put it to actual problems facing society. You people losing sleep over this is why this society is so ****** up.

This is GOLD. Soooo many posters were “done watching college basketball”.

Spoiler: They very much are still watching college basketball and have said the same thing again this weekend, 3 years later.
Really only a couple were done. They just happened to be loud and obnoxious.

Turns out enough people stepped up that the rest of the people can enjoy a top #15 squad and also buy $500 baseball bats for the 2nd grader. Good times for Cyclones fans.
Just to clarify I never bought my son an expensive bat at that age but I did at 12. But my premise still stands that I would still spend my money on my kid before someone else’s kid.

With how this thread has gone this week’s scolding from CW should be epic.
The whole point of this forum is to talk about ISU athletics and the portal is the biggest thing right now. We never got any confirmation that nothing was happening from the media and usually when there's smoke there's fire so I don't see the problem. As long as none of you took your frustration off the forum lol.

I think he's more upset with the burner accounts though, as all of us are.

Don't mind the myopic ******* losers in this thread whos entire life revolves around ISU athletics. There are people here that would rather spend there last dollar on ISU than their family. These people exist too. The idea that you got criticized for saying you'd spend money on your own son before you would an ISU player says it all. Losers! That's why this country is the way it is.

This could be said about spending money on many, many things. Why buy tickets to games when you could watch on TV? Why donate to the athletic department? And to an extreme, why donate to cancer research or that MS walk next weekend because your $100 isn’t going to cure cancer.

With that mindset, nothing is “worth it”. But if you can get 1000s of people to not be so selfish asking “what’s in it for me”, it absolutely has an impact. Just like donating to WeWill does. ISU has too many fans that think like you which is why we are in the bottom 1/3 compared to our peers.
Buying tickets gives you access to a live event. It's entertainment to some.

I agree, I don't understand why someone would donate to an athletic dept
People donate money to charities they care about as it can improve life for others.

Donating to nil you say has an impact. I disagree.

Why is it selfish to save you money to help you, your family or others in need. I completely don't understand why we would want to support this system of nil. I would rather the system fall apart then spend money making it worse.

I'm way more concerned about the amount of animals in shelters that need homes than ISU basketball. I know that makes me an awful person.

I assure you, from what our NIL fund is, they don't spend anything. Especially on this side. Go to premium if you want this convo

I mean I still maintain I’ll be done if the Big 12 ends up being some kind of minor conference.

In basketball we were top ten most of the year, Big 12 is in title game, Big 12 was decent officiating from being half of the Final Four. Pretty clear it’s still elite basketball despite media SEC boner.

Basketball always will have sustainability because of smaller roster size. Plenty of really good D1 players. There will definitely be a handful of good teams/conferences outside of just the SEC/ BIG10 if that is the fear. Football on the other hand will have more problems

This thread is almost identical to the Tyrese Hunter transfer thread. Starts with random rumor, some freak out, then everyone complaining about NIL.

I did forget that it was originally rumored that Hunter was going to North Carolina. Of course the transfer was accurate, but ended up being Texas. So maybe it's not LSU, but will be somewhere else. I did see a twitter rumor about Indiana.

I don't remember people in that thread suggesting we spend less money on our families and instead put it toward ISU basketball players. We've hit an all-time low in this one I'm afraid. I wish some of these posts were satire but they aren't.

Agree

It's sad because I got excited about ISU sports again because pro sports have gotten out of hand. Now with nil it could or is driving up $s in college.
