I feel like euton has the 165 spot locked. Also it pains me to say this but MJ just didn’t look as good as the year prior while I believe Riggins got better as the year went on so i definitely could see them battling for the 174 spot.
I’ve been thinking this, too. I think it will be dependent on who develops consistent leg attacks. MJ has higher point scoring ability because of his pinning, but lacks leg attacks so he struggles when he doesn't get an early lead. Riggins could get in on legs but seemed sluggish and couldn’t finish early in the season. He needs to get quicker to finish shots. I’m also not convinced either will be starting. I think 174 is the weakest weight in the projected lineup.

Maybe, but MJ is just a year removed from being a healthy guy who made the bloodround and was damn near an AA.

I’m excited to see what he can do when healthy and building towards being a big 74.

Miller would be another great portal addition. Could fill in at 157 or 165 and is a hard nosed wrestler. Go get him KD!
More I think on this I tend to agree, at first glance I’m like we are covered so why pursue a guy. But if he stays 57 and with our known logjam at 33-49 this almost ensures Paniro has to go 57 and by bringing Miller in who sounds to be a gritty grinder make you earn every position it’s meant to be a motivator and partner to unlock Paniro or Miller will take the spot!

No doubt time to drop the baby fat and start packing some real muscle on Go Greco Gaitan! Partner him up with Rocky when they are trainer, dude is yoked!!

I think one of the most beneficial things to guys when trying to AA is consistency, probably equally important to talent for AAs outside of the top like 3-4. MJ is and always has been the most inconsistent wrestler I’ve ever seen. He doesn’t have the talent to cover this gap, he relies on 1% throws. I am skeptical of these claims that this year was due to injury because why? Why continue wrestling if you’re that hurt in a year where we were never getting better than 15th? It makes no sense, take a medical redshirt and heal up for next year.

This is where i disagree. MJ is clearly talented. When he stays diciplined and uses everything in his bag instead of relying on funk is when you really see what he has. look at both his matches against Sax last year to see what MJ has. And yes the second match against Sax he was wrestling with one leg

Oh for sure, that is our weakest spot. Hopefully MJ gets a RS so he can improve and be more consistent. With riggins, as someone stated above, looked better at 165 than 174. Now that could have been him getting more confident throughout the season. 174 will be a weight with question marks all the way up to the first dual of the season next year.
