No complaints here. It's a big rivalry that only benefits from the biggest stage. And we've (and the rest of college football) completely overdone the night game. I prefer 2:30 if I'm going to the game, but that can also be brutal at that time of the year.
Can be. Average high that time of year is mid 70s. Had a lot of beautiful days for past Cyhawk games.

I know I'm not alone in being good with dumping the Iowa game. I would rather have a different P4 non con game.

Haven't heard if they are doing it this year I know they have gone over there in the past though and did it. Maybe they will skip it this year.

ESPN has been scheduled to broadcast two Week Zero games from Ireland and they planned on hosting College Gameday both times.

2020 - Notre Dame @ Navy
2024 - Florida State @ Georgia Tech

The 2020 game was ultimately cancelled, making the 2024 College Gameday the first to be broadcast from outside the US.

ESPN2 hosted two games from Ireland in 2014 and 2016, but these were both Week One games and College Gameday broadcast from neutral site games in the US on each of those dates.

2014 - Penn State v Central Florida
2016 - Georgia Tech v Boston College

Our game with Kansas State would be the third, scheduled, ESPN, Week Zero game and I would guess that ESPN would send College Gameday to Ireland. I also know that Iowa State is not the same brand to ESPN as Notre Dame and Florida State, so I would not be surprised if they do skip sending the crew over to Ireland.

I've heard that Tyrese and Georges will both be heading to Ireland, so maybe we could return the CGD favor and have an ISU guest picker for a KSU "home game".

I will never understand this. The Iowa game is fun, it's always been fun, it will always be fun - why in the world would you ever want to get rid of the biggest rivalry game on the schedule each year?

Yeah, ISU loses sometimes, but the booze and trash talk with your Iowa buddies still stays the same.

I have always found the game annoying, especially tailgating in the lots at JTS. I have seen so much horrible behavior by the Hok fans in the lots thru the years. Especially cringy in front of the kids. The game is what it is. Banning them from the lots would be great.

HATE the 11am home games. Getting into the lots for the Hok game will be a nightmare.

But at least the season ticket lots will be open before the weekly lots with an 11 AM game, right? Or have they gone away with that? Seems like it’s been a long time since we’ve had an 11:00 game.

European soccer has this right. Only allow visiting fans in certain sections of the stadium. Mixing fans in the stadium or in the lots only ends badly.

2024 rules: all lots open at 6:00 for an 11:00 start

2019 GameDay: all lots opened at 5:00 to allow fans to get to the show set; kickoff wasn't until 3:00

2021 GameDay: all lots opened at 6:00; kickoff wasn't until 3:30

I thought it was 5:00 AM?

Either way - getting up and being on the road by 4 is going to SUCK.

The 11 am games, the lots open at 6 now. 1 less hour before the game than the other start times. 5 am would be more helpful... especially the Hok game.

They get worse every year. Had to explain to my young daughter at the last Iowa game in Ames why a grown man in a Fry era Hawk hat had his pants down and was pissing in the middle of C4. Fun times.
