I hear he's got Multi Billion of dollars. He can buy the building where the meetings were held.If I had a billion dollars, you can bet Matt is taking my ass with him to media days.

Tech is going to be the new Texas.
As noted in the USA Today write-up, Nick Saban is no longer on the "Commission" with Campbell and the reason is very clear. Saban works for ESPN and one of Campbell's goals is pooling of media rights (which ESPN is against) and breaking up the ESPN/Fox stranglehold on the CFB.I dont know the details but I see his name thrown around alot about saving college athletics by working to put guardrails in place. Probably not a topic that can be discussed in this forum.
As noted in the USA Today write-up, Campbell was playing by the pre-House Settlement rules (or lack thereof) in his financial support of Tech. He and other big donors from other programs (see quotes from Florida booster) are well aware of and advocate the House guardrails that are now in place. And to do that, he's going to fund the most expensive football roster in america, pay a softball player seven figures, pay MBB players more than the NBA... blah blah blah. Talking out of his ass. Save college sports, but make sure Tech has/can buy it's way to the top while he's at it.
I get TTU being good would be good for the conference. Still hate the idea that some dude who largely lucked up into a fortune can singlehandedly sugar daddy a team to relavance. Hope they flop massively.
Almost made me spit out my drink. This is honestly an incredible post, legit put a smile on my face, well done
He probably wants a bunch of restrictions to be implemented while he pays a bunch of TT players under the table. This would create a greater advantage for Tech. And to do that, he's going to fund the most expensive football roster in america, pay a softball player seven figures, pay MBB players more than the NBA... blah blah blah. That's fine. But it's akin to saying, I saw the lack of rules as an opportunity to boost my team to top and, now that I've dumped $40mil into the football program this year, I'm all in on the guardrails and get some rules in place. Doesn't hold a lot of water to me.As noted in the USA Today write-up, Campbell was playing by the pre-House Settlement rules (or lack thereof) in his financial support of Tech. And claiming he lucked into a fortune is BS.
Given the vast majority of other programs with wealthy boosters were doing likewise, one can understand Campbell's motives in propping up TT during the "no guardrails" period. That's fine. He's on another level of thinking. In principle he completely disagrees with how he's investing. However, in today's world the best way to change things is to demonstrate how bad they are. If TTU wins a championship in a major sport through wild spending, it might very well be just the slap in the face the blue bloods need to realize a system of 'slightly' imbalanced parity is better for everyone than alienating the majority of fans. And to do that, he's going to fund the most expensive football roster in america, pay a softball player seven figures, pay MBB players more than the NBA... blah blah blah. Well if you’re counting on TT to win a major championship you’re gonna have a long wait ahead of you. Maybe softball or a sport that is pretty minor they could pull off. He's on another level of thinking. In principle he completely disagrees with how he's investing. Campbell mentions in this interview that conference championship is top priority for TT and see how the chips fall in the CFP.Well if you’re counting on TT to win a major championship you’re gonna have a long wait ahead of you. Maybe softball or a sport that is pretty minor they could pull off.
I find it so weird TT NIL keeps getting brought up when their recruiting class is behind powerhouses Minnesota and Syracuse

Not sure what recruiting rankings you're referring to but the classes of 2026 and beyond are presumably being recruited under the new House rules. TT sources have confirmed that 2026 recruit Felix Ojo's guaranteed deal is $775K/yr under the TT RevShare cap which is plausible. Anything beyond that is not guaranteed despite Ojo's agent claims. And 2026 recruiting is far from over.
And your B10 boys and Fox puppets need to pay attention to this guy:
Masterbation. It's weird to me that a booster is at media days
So you think Campbell is lying when he states that the vast majority of P4 athletics administrators (including from the SEC and B10) agree with media rights pooling?I almost always use 247 rankings, I’m not sure what other ones people would really go off of. Sure 2026 isn’t far from over but so far they don’t have much to show for their investment.
I don’t think anyone is worried about this guy and the fact that you think “don’t worry the oil billionaire will save us” is just kinda sad.
