The only race I damn near puked...Went back the next year to say I whipped it. After that, never again.

Think I ran it four times, "raced" it once for time. Stupid hot and starting uphill is hardest 10kish race ever dreamed up.

I put raced in quotations because all I wanted for that run was to be under 7 minute miles, that was good enough for me on thar for hell course.

Looking like some big rains starting tonight and into Sunday for parts of IA and MN where I am. Flood watches in some places.

How many days in the Iowa/WI/MN general area have been like the last two days this summer? Doesn't seem like many. It was actually nice to be outside.

Next week: back inside I go.
Was nice to start the day today left windows open, had to go to Boone for work got down there humid as heck, by the time I got home humid again. Windows closed and air back on.

It hasn't been THAT hot this year so far, but the consistent rains leading to insane humidity has made it pretty rough. Mosquitos/ticks are usually done by now, but they're still going strong on our property, and it sucks. I'm ready for fall.

Big rain going through the neighborhood. Might be our first rain of over 2” for this summer. Guessed wrong, ended up with 3.6” overnight.

Ames
Sirens just went off in Ames.
Phone warning went off a bit earlier here in west Ames. We’re in the basement, but I think the worst is southeast of us and moving at a pretty good clip.
