I don’t want to see more money tied up so we can make a serious run at Tucker but if we can get Keller then deal Taillon in the off season I’d be ecstatic. Shota, Boyd, Keller, Steele, Rea, Horton, Brown and Assad? Sign me up for that in 26. Rea has to be resigned but I’m pretty sure he’d be all about returning.Who is to say it has to be for a rental? There could be some pitchers available with years left on their contract that he might be worth the ask for. Even some of the top rentals may fetch a better prospect than some think they might. With the expanded wild card more teams have been buyers than in the past so the trade deadline isnt what it used to be.
Rea has a $6M club option for next year. That's a no brainer assuming his arm doesn't have to be amputated between now and the first week of November.I don’t want to see more money tied up so we can make a serious run at Tucker but if we can get Keller then deal Taillon in the off season I’d be ecstatic. Might see you there.Taking the family on Monday. Hope we get lucky with the weather, it’s not looking great…
Unsure which game we go to but it'll be one of these upcoming ones.Section 222
Not a fan of bringing a player up from AAA and relying on them to be a starter with zero or limited MLB experience. It is very typical for a player who thrives at AAA to struggle at the major league level. For some it's a temporary thing, but many top prospects never end up being an everyday major league player.I understand the want/need to get these guys big league at bats, but if you resign Tucker then 2/3 of your outfield is set for the next 5 years and 2026 is another surefire contending year. And if you don't resign him it works itself out that way.
It's not the end of the world if Caissie and/or Alcantara don't get full time at bats until 2027, which will only be their age 24 seasons anyway. They'll fill in as needed and almost certainly one would be traded in this scenario.
I wouldn't hold my breath on Happ or Suzuki playing 1st base.
Edit: This kind of stuff happens on good teams sometimes. See: Michael Busch with the Dodgers.
Rain? I know mid-week it's suppose to be hot as hell.Taking the family on Monday. Hope we get lucky with the weather, it’s not looking great…
The Brewers have the 4th hardest schedule in the second half, and Cubs have the easiest schedule so that obviously helps the Cubs chances. That being said, the Cubs and Brewers play 8 more times this season. Three in Milwaukee and then five at Wrigley.Brewers playing such good baseball too right now. Going to be a hell of a race for the Central title.
