Milan Momcilovic tweets "entering NBA draft and portal"

I mean I hope he is in the NBA next year, continuing to put cyclones in the NBA only helps us recruiting great high school talent and attract portal players. With that said gonna be bummed if he is another college jersey though

I don’t buy this at all. He’s good enough to hold a spot for him. It’s definitely money.

Sigh. This has been explained MANY times.

Everybody good is committing soon in the transfer portal.

We could afford to keep him, but if he doesn’t come back there is nobody to spend that money on left.

So if we wait, it’s a huge risk because not only do you get no Milan you get nobody to replace him.

Alright, so I guess we’ll see who takes that last spot. We’ll see if you are right.

Like I said in another thread, if he wants to come back you tell Rise or Mitchell to hit the road.

Nothing precludes him from coming back still. Really stupid that all of the logistics with this don't line up in a way that makes sense.

Like others said this is actually probably helpful to us.

If I were him I would just be planning to come back while still going through the process for more feedback, but get the goal to get to the NBA could be too enticing.
His roster spot here will 100% be taken by the end of the week. We can't afford to wait around for two weeks hoping he doesn't take a $5 mil check from UNC or whoever.

I don't think Otz would release a statement saying "we look forward to watching Milan on his journey to the NBA" if they thought he'd be back.

I'll say the same thing here as in the transfer portal thread:
I have absolutely NO animosity toward Milan for this decision or toward TJ for needing a clear answer. I hope Milan gets drafted or at least has a 2-way guarantee and is done with cbb, but I also will cheer for him if he ends up in another college uniform. Hopefully not an ISU opponent.
Nope - if he (or anyone else) transfers then they don't get another ounce of my fandom efforts. I only have enough energy for current teams and the players that embody FOREVER TRUE by sticking through graduation or going pro.

College sports is now a commodity exchange market. Networks buying conferences, conferences buying teams, teams buying players. The academics, legacies, rivalries, traditions are meaningless. Pro sports have drafts, trades, multi year contracts, salary caps, balanced schedules, shared revenue. At least there is some semblance of consistency and parity.

His decision. It’s been said he REALLY wants to play in the NBA level. He is coming off a historic year. It’s possible his draft stock might fall next year if his production declines. So he may still go the nba route even if he is a second round pick.

But it is still 100% his call to make. And I’m sure it’s not an easy one
People are failing to recall he had an injury 2 seasons ago keeping him out of a decent number of games. God forbid, what if he came back & sustained a severe injury? Also, how much better can he perform? Likelihood he follows up the best season ever by a volume, 3-point shooter with an even better one has to be less probable. Feel like he is leaving at his college peak.

Not being a top 10-15 pick allows him to be taken by a successful team with specific needs, and those fitting that may be ones he is very high on possibly being a part of.

But not all plans pan out, so if he did not get chosen he could get a bag for 3.5+ million for a 4th collegiate year. All seems like a no brainer and Otz & he have been together on it since season end & as transparent with the public as humanly possible.

Should the latter happen, I will wish him nothing but the best & the most success possible, unless he's competing against ISU or playing for some team I loathe (FU, BYU), then I would be against him in those certain, specific instances as my 'team' trumps any player. But I would hold no grudge & would not join in on anying booing, chanting, or any other "pissy" actions. In today's landscape, he's approached & gone through this process as well as anyone can. Last, I'm not saying it wouldn't hurt seeing him in a zone for another college team. It would be beyond bittersweet, but such is life & Im hoping the NBA makes that a moot point.
