Milan Momcilovic tweets "entering NBA draft and portal"

The reality is, we need to get used to this. This comes with the success TJ has brought. The team gets more attention and great players on perennial Top 20 teams will have lots of opportunities. If we go through the same thing next year, it will be a good sign.

The good news is TJ has proven he can reload.
It sucks, but it is a good problem to have.

Agree. Now that they have moved on from Milan, I wouldn't mind going for a 4 now, and have Singleton at the 3.
Feel like TJ has the flexibility to find the best available: stretch 4 or a wing.

But also feel TJ knew Momcilovic was gone when he signed: Singleton, Manning, Johnson & Bond. So it's not necessary for TJ to sign an 18ppg scorer with Milan gone. In part because Toure, Batemon & Pleta will make big jumps.

Toure, Batemon and Pleta are extremely exciting foundation players assuming we can retain them throughout their college careers but if they make it to senior year together that’d be incredible

Iowa has 4 mil over Iowa State budgeted.
In basketball?!? lol

Iowa had the lowest BB NIL of the P4. So you really think Iowa State's NIL is even lower and apparently on par with the G5 schools? Okay...

Jefferson, Momcilovic, etc. all would've bolted prior to last season if that was even remotely close to true.
He’ll get north of 3 million
That's what ISU is offering him. He'll get closer to 5 mil at Florida. Or he'll go NBA. That's it. He is not going to Iowa.

I hope he goes to the draft. If he goes to Florida he's no longer a cyclone IMO. Wouldn't be any different than Audi what's her name.

You’d be right in the Fran NIL era. With revenue share Iowa will be at 10-12 mil. As will most Big 10 schools.

Nope - if he (or anyone else) transfers then they don't get another ounce of my fandom efforts. I only have enough energy for current teams and the players that embody FOREVER TRUE by sticking through graduation or going pro.
Smaller scale but same theory with Audi, if she would have stayed probable rafters because of points and AA status. Now good luck at your next school.

Milan should get on a NBA contract as soon as he can so he gets to his second contract that much sooner. Milan will do well in the NBA. If Kyle Korver, Niang, and AJ Green can make 10's of millions, so can Milan. I think he will be in the NBA next year.

I just looked it up, Kyle Korver made $79 million in the NBA, and I think that is a good comp for Milan. And with the much higher salaries now, Milan will make well over $100 million if his shooting carries over to the "wave at you defense" of the NBA.

Milan is adding context on in a post on Instagram/FB and he doesn't need to do that, IMO. We all understand how much he was a true Cyclone and hopefully he understands how much ISU fans loved having him here. People pretending he was likely coming back after he announced for the draft were always making an unreasonable assumption.

It is clear he is trying to do what is best for Iowa State. As I said earlier I think he'd be better off with next years draft, but get wanting to just get to the NBA. For our sake he needed to make a decision on if he was coming back now. This gives him the most flexibility and could still theoretically include him coming back for a pay cut.

If I had to guess he stays in the draft, but you never know. I don't hate him for giving us the ability to plan better for next year.

The real answer is we need to get the schedule worked out so it makes sense. The transfer portal shouldn't be until after the draft evaluation process.
