I could see Vega taking a RS year, but maybe not. 149 will lose Van Ness and Henson after next year

That’s a crazy take. Mendez is great, but how big was Vega on Saturday night compared to mendez? You think there’s no way van ness can’t score a TD on Vega? He had a length and leverage advantage at 141 that will diminish a little at 149. If he would’ve had stanich on Friday night in the semis holding his weight down for another weigh in he’s losing that match to Luke.

Huh? Never said there is no way Van Ness can’t takedown Vega. Where would you ever think I said that?

My point is that Vega is an undefeated national champion who has never been taken down in his career and beat the Hodge favorite in the finals. He is not making redshirt decisions based on who is or is not in the weight. Guys that good don’t wait for the weight to clear out.

To your point that van ness can take him down.. what is Vegas path to victory over van ness if he’s giving up even just 1 takedown? Vega hasn’t proven to take good guys down outside of his leg cradle defense.

I’m very confused. I never made any claims about Van Ness and Vega. That was you. What are you asking me to defend?

Us open ends April 26. Some guys wait until that is over so their training is not interrupted. Perhaps our target transfers are in that bunch.
 
Listened to Basch and Willie’s podcast, and they think all the Stanford guys are staying put.

Really hoping for some good news soon.
