Boyd looks like he’s trying too hard to me. I’m not inside his head but needs to trust that Mo can do it
Logically, I wouldn't expect ABS to impact certain pitchers. But the more games I watch, it seems like batters are chasing fewer pitches below the zone.

That becomes a challenge for a pitcher like Boyd whose pitch path is 10/5 and he relies on chase strikes.

Can we just do away with the stupid challenge system and have the computers call balls and strikes? if the computers are going to be the ultimate arbiter and you have removed pretty much any excuse not to use them for every call just use that all the time.

If this score holds, story of the game is ABS. Just abysmal use of them early and it directly leads to the game winning Padre runs. Paired up with this ump having a rough night and…

Like what are we doing here blue. And it wasn’t even like Mo received it poorly either

Not gonna pretend I could even come close to hitting a Mason Miller slider but awful maddening for Busch and Bregman to not be sitting on it when that’s clearly all he was comfortable throwing

Team needs a day off in the worst way. MLB did them no favors with 7 games in a row leading into a Dodgers/Padres west cost swing. With all the injuries they've had this is brutal.

Maton has not been good so far this season which is surprising as he's been a pretty effective reliever the past few seasons. He's had 6 appearances so far and in 4 of those he has given up 2 runs in each. They way he and Boyd are struggling right now makes you wonder...

Webb is another pitcher that has been hard to trust so far too.

Offense has started to heat up but the pitching is now in a funk. If we can get Busch and PCA out of their funks this would be a really dangerous lineup to pitch to. Mo is making a case to move up even further in the order.

Just have to get one of the next two games and get back home for a D'backs/Reds series. The starting pitchers have to go deep for the Cubs right now with basically no bullpen with all the injuries. Good news on Palencia that he should be back soon.

Seriously though is our medical staff just clueless? It can’t be a coincidence that we have all these injuries.
