****Official Class Of 2027 Recruiting Thread****

Kind of rhetorical, and obviously assumptive, but a class of Harrington, Davis and Ann would have to be the best HS recruiting class we’ve ever had, and by a wide margin, right?
Going way back to 1990, Hoiberg, Hurl Beechum and Loren Meyer. Guess that could be the best ISU in-state class.

I really like Coleman's game. If you don't watch a ton of Valley games, you don't realize how bad Pedon is at Illinois State plus he's absolutely in love with Jonny Kinziger which artificially limited Coleman's minutes.

I think he's a good get.

With you on McKeever. He's really tall and he's....fine? I guess. The physicality in the Big Ten has a chance to eat him up.

I can't have an objective opinion on Coon because of what an incredible guy his dad is and Jaidyn is a great kid as well.
I like Coleman's game too, but then I remember he's being relied on to replace Stirtz. Or is that not accurate? Because he's nothing like Stirtz other than his ability to get in the lane.

I actually think he may not even start, let alone play Stirtz minutes

If we’re talking about how the recruiting class looked on paper, the 2023 class with Momcilovic, Biliew, and Rock was very highly rated at the time. It didn’t pan out to be a top class for ISU however.
Believe that was a class Johnny Orr said there were five good players in the state of Iowa. ISU got three of them, one couldn’t get into school, and the other one went to Iowa…which is about the same thing.

I would have preferred the 3 years and upside of Coleman over 5-9 Bully Johnson.

We didn’t even sniff around Coleman.. and “yet to be seen” is funny considering they both just played in the same league and one was arguably the MVP and the other guy came off the bench.
I was responding to cykadelic2’s comment he preferred the next three years of Coleman. We have yet to see how he develops, but like you, I believe we have seen enough accomplishment from Johnson I am glad he is the Cyclones.

Did I hear that correctly on the mailbag podcast that Josiah Harrington has grown to 6’7’to 6’8’? If so, he’s gonna be scary because he’s got some good guard skills!
You heard it correctly. Whether the statement was correct, I have no idea. That would be incredible though.

I would take that with a grain of salt. I saw him during the season (not next to, but maybe 10-15 feet away) and I would say a true 6'5". I don't know, I could be wrong (frequently am).
