Football traditions.

Yes. Wisconsin does it at the end of the 3Q. The students and a lot of the stadium get into it.
Pollard came from Wisconsin and since we had almost zero game day traditions, he tried to copy that. It didn’t stick. I’m glad things like Juicy Wiggle happened organically.
I went to a nonconference game at Wisconsin a few years ago. I got a very different glimpse of their student section.
The students had to enter single file with security posted all over the place. They would fill in a section and then move students to the next section. It looked like a prison release program. It took most of the first half for them to fill up the student section. Then they did the Jump Around thing and started leaving. Almost nobody was left by the end of the game.
For the record, the 5th quarter that the band performs after the game was outstanding.
Mid 80's for me and then it was "Don't know the words, don't know the words, don't know the words, to our school song."
I'm sure it is a fine song in the right setting, however after an exciting game, it is really a buzz kill. I would be fine if it was never played at an athletic event again.
I feel like the whole n game experience at football games has come a long way during JP’s tenure. Not perfect but vastly improved.
Here is one tradition that didn't continue.
Back in the late 60's/early 70's after an interception or fumble, the crowd would yell in unison "Ahhhhhhh, SH*T!!
Unfortunately, it was quite audible over the radio broadcast and the "tradition" ceased.

Have we ditched that one? I kinda liked it because it was unique and the students actually got it down pretty well
It is the fricking Alma Mater, for Crying out loud. It should mean something to graduates.
The players, coaches, and cheerleaders seem to enjoy singing The Bells of Iowa State after a game. I think the sentimentality of the song fits that moment pretty well.
