Texas Tech 10 Million Dollar Portal Season

It is said Sorsby didn’t bet against Indiana (which doesn’t matter) but he did bet the under in passing yards, which does mean he bet against them.
I don’t think that matters at all. Does lower passing yards mean less chances of winning?

this is about not letting future foxes in the henhouse imo

It doesn’t matter at all like you said. I just find it amusing the length the tech fans go in defending him.

To me it doesn't matter that he wasn't playing in the games at Indiana or if he was betting for or against IU in those games. He was still a member of the team and more than likely had inside info on player injuries, games plans, etc.

He all the sudden has a gambling addition AFTER he was caught. Not the last 4 years while at IU or Cincinnati? I even saw stores that he was travelling across state lines to Oklahoma while in high school to place bets, but never claimed an addiction then either.

**** Tech. Big 12 should give them the boot but they will just act all upset but not do a ******* thing. Its time to boycott college sports until changes are made.
That tweet can’t say 100% of universities would do the same when they fail to mention that neither universities in Iowa did this clown and pony show.

Point shaving and other match-fixes are illegal.

Amendments should include betting against yourself

Which would take the protection of the sanctity of the game out of NCAA hands

Hey Tech,
You need to follow our example and take your punishment like men.
There is also nothing stopping the Big12 from putting their own punishment out there that’s totally separate from anything else. Happened just recently with Harbaugh's suspension amongst others

It's like when celebrities get caught cheating "oh I had a sex addiction, I need to go to rehab." No sir you got caught being a horny man, no shame, just own it.

Yeah gambling addiction is a very real thing but what he has is a case of “I wanna get paid itis”, most people miss it on first pass but all the symptoms are there

So badly he risked it all on small bets!

No need for the false dilemma. He can have an addiction and also want his money

On the other hand, Sorsby vs. Deion on October 3, the ratings would go through the roof. /sarcasm/

See, im the opposite. I don't think having "inside info" matters even a little bit. It matters for the casinos in terms of ensuring a fair betting market, but I quite frankly couldnt give a **** about that, and think it was a mistake to let it proliferate like it has. No shortage of insiders that aren't on the team that could and do use the same information. Hell, there are likely members of this board making bets based on information that isn't available to the broader public.

I 100% think he’ll play. I think all the talk from ADs and conference leaders about not standing for this egregious violation of the foundations of collegiate sports is hot air to placate fan bases and ultimately no school is going to follow through with the threats to not play.

The NCAA has been slowly, slowly, slowly castrated for years now and Tech is ‘hold my beer’ and full on sending it. Unless Yormack states that the Big 12 will stand behind any team that refuses to play them, no school is actually going to stick their neck out and forfeit a game on principle.

The reality is that Tech is now the bully in the league. Used to be UT and to a lesser degree OU. OUT joining the SEC gave Tech the opportunity to be the big fish in the pond and they are pushing all their chips in and daring the league to call their bluff.

Maybe someone touched on this. How does having a starting quarterback with a gambling problem affect betting lines for those games? Are there concerns?

How come someone can’t rule that the Lubbock & Texas judges have a conflict of interest?
