2026 concerts

Just got back from seeing Nate Bargatze at the Casey’s Center. Fantastic and hilarious, enough to more than make up for the colossal cluster **** that is parking and driving in that area during a big event.

It took us literally an hour to get out of the lot - but man, it was worth it. My 11-year-old and I went with some friends, and it was great!

We had never seen that lot as pre-paid, so we had to shift on the fly. Luckily found a lot just south of Hy Vee Hall and got out quick, but then Des Moines PD was shutting down intersections around Court so we had to sidetrack a bunch to get out of downtown.

Really great show though, laughed the whole time, including the opening guys & host..

We got into town late and ended up having to park in a parking garage near Civic Center.

Missed like first half hour.

Last night went and saw new movie of his The Breadwinner. Great movie.

What did you think of Red Rocks? I haven't been there yet but thinking of going to see Acid Bath and Ministry there in September.
I thought it was awe inspiring. I see great music as almost a spiritual experience, and combined with that environment and the open sky, it really is at another level. The concert could have been bad, and I still would have found it worth the drive out there.

AC/DC played Hilton in 1988 and 1990. They closed with For Those About to Rock(We Salute You) and those cannons were deafening.

Wife and I saw Tyler Childers there and I always describe it as a "religious experience"
