KXNO Sports Fanatics

I think not hearing Condon's voice and his obessive gambling talk would be my preference
That's a reason I think pairing him with Brend would be good. Miller is a degenerate gambler too, so that spiraled the gambling talk out of control. Brend isn't as in to it, and would likely keep to a relative minimum outside of discussing lines and the like.

I like the idea of a CyHawk show that would be super "sports" forward and have two lifelong non-alumni fans that absolutely know their schools' histories and realities inside and out sparring a bit. You have the middle age guy/young pup type split too.

I think they could be pretty good sparring partners. Maybe not a year round thing, but like a weekly recap/look ahead during football and basketball seasons.

There are enough hawks on the radio, no need for anymore.

iHeart/KXNO know nothing about local sports/media/interests. They seem to be very dumb when you think about it.

I'd guess Trent and maybe a few others could/may target another station or streaming service. Heck, they aren't even playing the World Cup games anymore on KXNO that Sean had set up. Dumb, dumb and more dumb.

Debate is a lot more interesting to me than a circle jerk where everyone's in agreement (even if I agree with said circle jerk).

Two Guys is pretty good at this, but it's kind of "more" than what I'm envisioning.

I wouldn't (and don't) listen to his Locked on Hawks show, but he'd be a good part of CyHawk show.

I don’t know what the enrollment figures are at Greenlee. Actually I have an opposite take being a JLMC grad.. this is a very tough market for mid size papers. Radio is toast. But weekly’s are holding their own because of legals and loyalty. I think there is still a good niche for grads just starting out. Look for areas with lots o mennonites and Amish. Start their own paper.
Lol yeah that's the dream. To start a newspaper in an Amish community.

As a journalism grad, do not waste your time with newspapers. It is depressing. Horrible hours, low pay, and usually terrible places to live if you're young. Independent media is probably the most promising outlet right now. Talented video editors can do well on social media. If you can pair a talented video editor with a strong personality and reporting skills, you can earn a following. Not easy, and what Iowa Everywhere has built takes a lot of connections, marketing, and hard work.

Or you can face reality and use your skills in marketing and consulting like the rest of us.

If you do it right you can still make a good living with newspapers. I did. Especially after the Amish Bishop allowed the Amish to run display ads instead of classifieds.

Maybe if you started your career when newspapers were still relevant. It's not worth the crappy pay, hours, stress, and location. It's not a bad place to gain some experience, but you can make a lot more doing a lot less in other fields.

It’s not crappy hours like it used to be. At least in rural Iowa.

We will disagree.

I try to avoid all things hawk and have absolutely no interest in hearing what they have to say.

Speaking of National radio ESPN just announced their new Line-up starting August 3rd. The Golics are coming back to ESPN.
