A sample of their hits:
How the Guess Who is not in the HOF is crazy, 14 top 40 hits with 4 hitting #1 in N. America and they are not in? Throw in the hits of BTO by Randy Bachman and it's even worse, another 6 top 10 hits included one that reached #1.Or the Guess Who, with the iconic voice of Burton Cummings...
Think Guess Who played at the White House when Prince Chuck came. Pat Nixon told Burton Cummings he was not to play American Woman. How the Guess Who is not in the HOF is crazy, 14 top 40 hits with 4 hitting #1 in N. America and they are not in? Yes was so, so popular when I was at ISU. Their songs were always played at parties.Yes already is in HOF, we're talking about Little River Band!
(Sorry, couldn't resist the easy quip.)
I think your right -- 5 Aussie. The Bee Gees considered themselves a British band (particularly the Isle of Man) with strong ties to Australia. Midnight Oil had only one hit I can think of "Beds are burning" and inducted in 2022.I considered The Bee Gees as a UK group, even though it has Aussie roots, most of its significant output was after that.
Midnight Oil, I don't think enough impact.
Men at Work --- I have a soft spot for it, based on nostalgia, and some good tunes, but not HOF-worthy.
Midnight Oil is not in R&RHOF, but is in ARIA (I had to look it up, I couldn't remember for sure and didn't trust my memory).I think your right -- 5 Aussie. Probably more than some already in.
But not an act I'd think, "Oh wow, they're not in?!"
Basically a nice Aussie Soft rock act that had a few hits/albums.
But are people saying, "Yeah, I was heavily influenced by them?" Probably not.
No disrespect.
Or Men at Work? Probably not thoWell, Thin Lizzy were from Ireland, so there was that part.
I think the next and maybe only Australian band to get in will be Inxs.
Or Men at Work? Probably not tho
I've never really paid that much attention to the RnRHoF, until I see the list of inductees that comes out. I always figured it was like the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Put up the money and we'll let you in because as others have said, some of those who are in and those who aren't in yet, it doesn't seem like a true Hall of Fame to me, more of a publicity thing.

Makes sense. Like I said, I just never paid that much attention to it. Thanks for the info. They have a selection process and that is why Boston is not in it--money bribes do not seem like a part of it:
It’s possible to get inducted into the Rock Hall with a limited discography, as bands like the Velvet Underground and the Sex Pistols prove. But those acts were visionary and groundbreaking, and influenced entire generations of bands who came later. It’s hard to argue that Boston changed the course of rock history to the same degree as those acts.

Boston wasn't copied as much as others because they couldn't be copied. Yet, they have a unique sound that people love. WE WANT BOSTON!
