***OFFICIAL 2026 WEATHER THREAD***

We got 2 inches in about 45 min in Ankeny. Crazy how long those high winds lasted for

Luckily my river birch caught it from heading into the neighbors house across the street. Lol
I have no idea how that thing caught air. Must have hit the house and went straight up or had a mini tornado because there is only one row of houses where that thing could have came from if not a tornado.

What the **** are you talking about?? It was 98-100 degrees, 77 dew point, feels like in the 110s. That is the literally definition of bad out.
Bad is when you have to sit through a baseball or softball tournament. Took the day off I donated plasma, got a sandwich in Norwoodville, and grabbed a few groceries for blts tonight. Yes I got tomatoes from a stand. So I didn’t think it was that bad.

Going to be difficult to get a rain amount here in N. Ames because of the high winds we were getting during the storm. Just checked my gauge and it was almost 3 inches, so I would say we got at least 2.5 here in N. Ames. My gauge tends to run heavy.
