I’m not a Sutcliffe fan at all, but I thought he did a great job that inning with the old guy ALS auction winner doing play by play. Got him comfortable right away and just let an old timer talk baseball memories. Wouldn’t be upset if they did more of that throughout the year

He’s actually right. He’s played in all 100 games. Give him a night off before a day off to let him recharge to avoid wearing down like he did last year. Everyone else on this team had four days off last week.

This is why baseball needs a run rule. Detroit can pitch McKinstry 2 innings and save their bullpen for tomorrow.

Plus, McKinstry was throwing 38mph and then rips one 80mph. What if the fastball hits PCA and breaks his hand?

detroit was into their bullpen in the 1st inning. peterson went into the 7th for the cubs. detroits pen is in far worse shape tomorrow than the cubs.

Not really. Hanifee & Madden are likely down. And Madden was a call up today because Flaherty went on DL. So the Tigers could send him back down and call up a fresh arm.

Cubs are down Civale, Thornton. I think Counsell would throw Assad, but Counsell might want Assad as backup if starter leaves early over weekend series.

I listened to Tigers broadcast tonight and Benetti & Petry were ecstatic they got 2 innings out of McKinstey/Rogers because their bullpen is overworked. Hinch reiterated in post game.
