This place turns more into a local Facebook group every day. Just need a few more posts of "did anyone hear sirens just now at blah blah street? Anyone know what's up?"
We switched from US Cellular to Verizon last month, could not be happier about the switch over. US Cellular is great in the southern part of the state, but horrible in the rest of it.
must be new to Waukee. RIP New PioneerDid anyone hear that loud bang? Were those gun shots?

Crap like that gets you a bare minimum tip, if they cannot come over and provide you with a service, then they are not getting 15 to 20% for a tip.I think good help in service industries is getting harder to come by across the board. Even in a non-service job like a corporate office environment its happening too. I am seeing more of people (especially the younger generations) "calling in" much more frequently than they did when I was in that age range. We have 2 contractors on my team that I bet call in at least once sometimes twice a month and it's always on a Monday or Friday, rarely ever in the middle of the week do they do that. And it's a fine line with how management deals with it because if you let them go then you are short staffed and everyone else has to pick up the slack until you hire someone and it's no guarantee the next person you get will be any better.
Witnessed it last night going to eat at a bar and grill. We had about a dozen in our party and had reserved seating ahead of time and watched multiple servers just pass by us for about 15 minutes. Some stopped and were chatting with the bartender for a while too. Finally, someone went over and asked one of them if someone was going to be coming over to take our orders and the server goes "oh I guess that would be me!" Bet they had walked by us nearly 10 times and was talking with the bartender while checking their phone a couple of those times too.

Why would you tip them at all?Crap like that gets you a bare minimum tip, if they cannot come over and provide you with a service, then they are not getting 15 to 20% for a tip.
