I heard on the radio today each NCAA site gets a brand new floor as host. Unbelievable expense. But what happens to those floors as they cannot be used again for NCAA games?

Pretty sure schools that play at the site have the option to purchase the floor at a discount. I feel like ISU actually did this once.

They cut some of them up into ~6 inch pieces, slap a commemoration sticker on them, and give them to the suite ticket holders. I know a guy who was a guest of a suite-holder last time the tournament came to Des Moines and has one sitting in his office; complete waste of lumber if you ask me.

I'd be curious to see some replays from our games. I noticed a lot of "slipping" in the first 3 rounds.
In hindsight, though I didn’t hear any complaints. Seems like that would be a bad dead spot too.

This one probably going to Kansas hall of fame

The floor board wasn't loose. These floors are designed to have some give to them so the players joints don't absorb the full shock like if they laid them directly on top of concrete. If anything, that floor made it possible for Bacot to play as well as he did. All NBA floors do that same thing.

My guess is that it was his already severely sprained ankle and the shoes he was wearing that led to him rolling his ankle. They had a guard roll his ankle in those same shoes.

From the court manufacturer: https://www.espn.com/mens-college-b...r-armando-bacot-was-injured-says-manufacturer

The team that wins the national title has the rights to buy that floor and the rest are sold at a discount
Yep. Kansas has the center court from San Antonio displayed in their practice facility I think. They will find a spot for this one as well.

That may be for some of the pieces that get swapped out but the main floors are sold. UNI used to have the floor that they beat Kansas on. If I remember right the schools bid on a floor but you don't know which one it is so UNI getting that floor was completely random.
