David will truly go down as not only one of the best but a program changer and revitalizer! Now Keck bring home another one for the State of Iowa that isn't a hawk.
The way he said were gonna have a good team makes me feel good about next year too.
Time in the center of the mat should be tracked like riding time. If only one wrestler is in the middle for more than a minute longer than their opponent, they should be awarded a point.

The officiating and the announcing during David’s match did not measure up to a National Championship match. Amateur hour.
Keckeisen bonused everybody this week -- major, tech, tech, major, major.

The guys David beat in the semifinals and finals are Askren Academy wrestlers. Ben Askren was selected to present awards at 165 pound weight class because of this. Just awesome that David out wrestled them both.

Almost worse than being so close to third is that they used to give out a trophy for fourth.
FWIW he had that exact same look when the first times I ask him about yonger and then Ech before they ever wrestled their first matches….
It was really cool to see David right there with PSU fans in support of Brooks. Strong Christ following. And never a doubt David was staying with ISU.
