Holiday week or weekend?
Mostly just the weekend for me and then heading to a friends in the twin cities for a couple of days. I have an annual week off at the end of July so I usually keep the 4th to just a couple of days. -

Or using the break on said scooter without wearing shoes. LittleWx recently did that on his Razor scooter and I instinctively yelled out "no!" and he looked at me like I am crazy. Of course it is all plastic now so the heat transfer from the friction is much different. -
HOA’s and their nonsense
We had a great one when we lived in Andover, Kansas (Just outside Wichita). If I remember correctly it was $250 or $300/year for an excellent well maintained neighborhood. The fees went towards the maintenance and upkeep of the common areas including two parks with equipment, two pools and two... -

Damn I love fluffy cloud season. Caught this from the north side of Marion last night of a tiny cell over Dyersville that actually was producing some small funnels. A lot going on here but the highlight for me was a rare pileus (lenticular on top of an updraft). -

Soon to be in CR though. In fact CR has a second water treatment facility nearly dedicated to the existing water dependent industries (ADM, Red Star, Cargill and a paper company) with a couple of data centers going in right now as well.
