    ISU vs Iowa Position Debate

Wrong. It might have been a push last year when the AxRob had no top end speed. This year he's clearly better than anyone that has seen the field for Iowa the last two years. Maybe Hampton can make it a push, but he needs to get a carry first. Iowa State had a very legitimate chance at 9...

    ISU vs Iowa Position Debate

That may be one of the most delusional comments I've ever read on here. Does anyone actually believe there are fans out there holding firm to the belief that Ricky Stanzi doesn't make mistakes?

    ISU vs Iowa Position Debate

I'm not sure anyone can call Micah Hyde a weak link yet. He bit on a double move and got beat deep once. Then he got beat for a touchdown on a broken play where the qb had extra time in the pocket as Clayborn decided to point at the LT instead of rush. He may be the weak link, but it's...

    ISU vs Iowa Position Debate

They may all be mediocre at best, but I think there are a number of guys on these rosters with a chance to make an NFL impact. Clayborn, Ballard, Sims, AxRob, and Reiff (to a lesser degree) all have proven to me that they are solid college players with NFL quality athletic potential.

    ISU vs Iowa Position Debate

It's probably a push unless one rates Arnaud with the rbs too. As far aa straight passing ability I think Arnaud has closed a gap that opened between the two last year. He looks like he can throw the ball with confidence again this year.

    Iowa State Vs. Iowa

I doubt the qb agrees. He threw almost exclusively short passes (any good coach isn't gonna make a young qb stand back there and beat the Hawks deep) and still took a lot of shots. He didn't have much time to throw, regardless of how fast you can count to 6 or 8. The lbs are a drop off. No...

    Iowa State Vs. Iowa

I didn't think Iowa's o-line had much trouble in pass protection. Stanzi did take a few shots from lbs after releasing the ball though. He actually played a pretty decent game and looked comfortable. Arnaud looked better (especially relative to last year) than Stanzi. One mildly interesting...

    Iowa State Vs. Iowa

DId ISU really do well against Spann or did the complete lack of a downfield passing game fail to test a group of inexperienced lbers. It's not like Spann wasn't impressive in a one dimensional attack. And I don't think you're following. I didn't claim the ISU's pass defense was bad. I...

    Iowa State Vs. Iowa

ISU's run defense got tested, but NIU certainly didn't test Iowa State in the passing game (which means their run d didn't get a true test). Their qb was was every bit as terrible as EIU's. With Iowa throwing everything over the middle of the field today it will be interesting to see how the...

    Let's end some myths

I thought the big problem ISU faced before hiring GMac was their absolutely abysmal graduation rates and the increasing penalties the NCAA began placing on those teams (especially a team like ISU that was graduating under 20% for three years in a row).

How will the Big 12 do in Bowl Games

It was a banner year for the Big 10 in bowl games. Two BCS wins. A matchup between solid #3 teams with the SEC. And a solid win by #4 against a talented Miami team. That's a great bowl year even with close losses by Minnesota, Northwestern, and Michigan State. It's a great year when a...

How will the Big 12 do in Bowl Games

A good Stanford team? I thought the backup qb was terrible.

    OMG Dexter!

Dexter's first season was phenomenal. The Wire didn't get going until season 4.

Chasson Randle at the Iowa Game

Really? Even during those off years Iowa had thousands more fans in Kinnick than JT can hold. I can see the argument for basketball, but it really doesn't work for football unless you want to start using relative percentages (which you did until that final bolded overstatement).

Chasson Randle at the Iowa Game

It's not the opposite though. It's more like the absence of die hard fans. Sure, most of those folks aren't fair weather, but they're not really die-hard fans either if that game wasn't important enough to attend. When Thanksgiving is an excuse why the stadium isn't full two days later for a...

Chasson Randle at the Iowa Game

It's true about basketball. But not football. Not even close. Of course, Iowa State has had a pretty decent run in bball since Tim Floyd was the coach so I'm not sure it says too much about the loyalty of the fans when nearly every fan can remember when ISU was the second best team in the nation.

    Christmas Trees

I'd miss both of those things greatly if I went with a fake tree.

    Christmas Trees

I cut a Cannan Fir at a tree farm. It's a balsam/frasier hybrid, but there seems to be a lot of variation in the needle structure between cannans so it's easy to find one that looks exactly like a balsam or another that looks exactly like a frasier. I prefer the frasier, but you can't grow 'em...

Woot Rhoads passes Ferentz on coach of year poll

It looks like Paul Johnson is outperforming CPR by ~300 votes since the start of this thread.
