Ugh, Gilbert won't be available? That's a killer, he's their most dynamic playmaker by far.

Oklahoma at 9 is freaking wild.

Was thinking the same. I do think Gonzaga is a tough 2nd round draw for Houston but this region is pretty weak after Houston and Tennessee. Kentucky, Purdue and Clemson are the weakest 3-5 seeds IMO.

The committee really valued out of conference resume. Iowa State at 3 and Purdue at 4 is testament to this. Even North Carolina getting a bid mainly due to them having a tough OOC even though they beat nobody.

Gonzaga is a tough draw for Houston in Round 2 if it comes to fruition.

BYU is the type of team that could easily get knocked out in the 1st round or make a Final 4 run. Very feast or famine team.

I think Auburn is a lot more vulnerable than UConn was last year. I think Florida is the scariest team now.

Sorry, I saw them in Milwaukee originally, was still recovering from seeing 1 Quad 1 win North Carolina getting a bid haha

Marquette gets rewarded with home games. Interesting

Also, North Carolina getting in with one Quad 1 victory is laughable

Got the 3 seed, in the Auburn bracket but will be in Milwaukee at least. Not bad

Lunardi and Palm now project Iowa State as a 4-seed as Selection Sunday nears

I agree, they definitely have a good argument based on the entire body of work. We'll find out soon. Personally I think which bracket they end up in and location is more important than seed line.

Lunardi and Palm now project Iowa State as a 4-seed as Selection Sunday nears

I never said that, are you guys reading my posts? I said the last 2 months sort of put a damper on what Iowa State did in the 1st half of the season and that other teams that had a far better two month resume caught up to Iowa State making their path to a 3 seed murky.

Lunardi and Palm now project Iowa State as a 4-seed as Selection Sunday nears

Kentucky played in one of the best conferences of all time, none of those were bad losses per se and they stacked a whole bunch of really good wins together.

Lunardi and Palm now project Iowa State as a 4-seed as Selection Sunday nears

That's what I'm saying. I said Iowa State COULD be a 4 seed then I got a bunch of replies disputing what I was saying. I'm using the last two months as an example because a poor two month stretch does somewhat cancel out the first half and it's also more indicative of what Iowa State is now...

Lunardi and Palm now project Iowa State as a 4-seed as Selection Sunday nears

Late reply to this but if you think all Quad 1 wins are created equal then I have a bridge to sell you. For instance, Kentucky beat Tennesse twice while Iowa State is beating UCF and Kansas State. There's a wide gulf in quality there and you better believe the committee sees that.

Lunardi and Palm now project Iowa State as a 4-seed as Selection Sunday nears

What does that matter? The facts are that they've beaten one tournament team since the Kansas win. That's an actual fact, it's not wallowing in misery. That's what can drop them to a 4 seed potentially, the lack of any meat on their resume after that Kansas win on January 15th.

Lunardi and Palm now project Iowa State as a 4-seed as Selection Sunday nears

If we go down the line and during the timeline of Iowa State only having the Arizona win in the last 2 months, lets take a look... Kentucky - beat Texas A&M, Tennessee twice, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma twice, Missouri Bad losses - None Wisconsin - beat Purdue, Illinois, UCLA and Michigan State Bad...

Lunardi and Palm now project Iowa State as a 4-seed as Selection Sunday nears

I don't think it's so controversial to say that Iowa State COULD get a 4 seed. I'm not saying that they won't get a 3 seed but if they are a 4, it's not so egregious because their resume in the last 2 months has not been good while others have caught up to them.

Ridiculous analogy. Auburn has piled up a bunch of quality wins in the last few months and lost at the buzzer against Alabama, to A&M on the road and down the wire against Tennessee. Iowa State lost to West Virginia, Kansas State and Oklahoma State. Sorry and maybe it upsets people but Iowa...
