    Last I heard the AD oversells the student section by 1,000, so when there are 500 empty seats, it’s actually 1,500 no shows.

    I believe a more detailed final rendering will come out later this month. Entire project will be completed by fall 2027. Outside of the clinic, no construction will likely begin before the fall because each project has to be approved by the BOR…which slows down the process.

    They should have run tile where the ravine runs through the new parking lots, fill with dirt and make it a green space for the athletic departments tents during football season. It would then connect Cytown with the Alumni Building.

    Regarding the Albaugh plaza, I never understood why they put rock down in a high traffic area that is one of your grand entrances to the stadium. Why not use red brick as a border or at least stamped colored concrete. I feel the same way about the islands in the new parking lots.

    Cytown final plans will be unveiled later this fall. I believe some additional details will be revealed during the next BOR meeting.

    The entire project will be completed by the end of 2027, including the hotel. Building construction will begin Spring 2025.

    Parking lots will be done before season begins. Final plans will be unveiled this fall. A $10M gift has been secured for naming rights to the amphitheater. Cytown will be done by the fall of 2027 including the hotel and convention complex.

    A major key is architecture and materials, otherwise it’s just a glorified strip mall. They already missed an opportunity to tie the stadium into Cytown, when they built the bridge and north end zone plaza. They should have used the same brick / stone used on the Iowa State University signs on...

    Less is more. Clean simple look with only 2 colors, not multiple shades of colors, stains etc. Basketball Cy at mid court would be fire.

    If a mark has to be manipulated or only works with a certain color background, it‘s an automatic fail. A logo should be simple and clean with no more than two colors, so it will pop on a uniform, shirt, hat or background. This is why the stencil and two color I-State logos look so much better...
