    Smoking Meat Questions and Discussion

    I’m doing a smoked ham and pulling it. Tossed it on the smoker at 8:30 last night. Low and a lot of smoke over night. Will glaze and wrap around 11. Will keep it on until it hits 200-205.

    That looks to be a pretty talented lineup with a lot of highly ranked wrestlers. Any recruits coming in at 125 or 197 or will they look to transfers for those spots?

    How does Iowa State match up in the 133, 141, and 157 matchups? I imagine the 165 and HW will be pretty intense. Tough to bet against Carr and Bastia.

    Are the coaches overly active in the portal? I don’t watch a ton of wrestling, but when I’ve seen these 2 in big matches I haven’t been impressed. Why not do what Iowa did or probably a handful of other colleges and just go to North Dakota State and take a couple of their studs?

    How do we shape up in the remaining matches? Frustrating it could be 12-3 ISU, but it’s half way through with a chance to win. Do we match up well the rest of the way?

    Larnach has had chances to prove himself in the majors though. Wallner hasn’t had an extended run yet. I’m no Wallner believer, but I’d prefer him over Larnach. If the Twins could get a good reliever for Larnach right now I’d do it and not think twice.

    Larnach can be moved. The book is out on him. He can’t hit a major league breaking ball. If the Twins can trade him for anything that can contribute do it. Otherwise he will just rot away on the bench and in the minors the next couple of years.

    It’ll be interesting to see how TJ and staff build next years roster. Lots of talent returning and coming in. Would love to see them add a proven high level scorer at the 2/3 position and a post with ability to stretch the floor a bit. That too much to ask? Haha

    Costs money to get high level quality players. Minnesota needs to make a run at Swanson. Farmer isn’t going to cut it at SS if the Twins want to be a good competitive team. The ownership and front office need to make a signing or 2 to energize the fan base and improve the team. It’s frustrating...

    offensive line help

    Not sure if describing someone as “isn’t awful” Is a good thing? He was always good for a false start or 2 a game in key spots. We will welcome all of them back, but there isn’t anyone in the line who isn’t replaceable or could be upgraded. The new Oline coach will have talent to work with.

    Maybe @brentblum and @ChrisMWilliams could set up kind of a Zoom “town hall” where some questions could be answered in the forum and maybe use it to raise some funds towards the collective as well? Or maybe donate a certain amount and get a special bottle of CF or even a WeWillCollective brand...

    That’s what I’d like to know also. How much does Iowa State have or an approximate amount? And is Iowa State encouraging donors to move more towards the Collective with their donations like Iowa and some other schools?

    I hope it’s true. I think the talent is there with the players. Just need someone to coach them up.

    95% of what? I think that’s awesome what the Collective is doing and I’m anxious to see how it’s used once the portal opens next week. I’m curious what amount the collective has right now. Is anyone able to say the amount the Collective has?
