It looked good to me live and on replay.

It was similar to the way we beat OSU, and lost to Alabama in the independence bowl. Ball has to be full inside the upright. If it passes above it's no good. Very close to being on the wrong side of that call for a 2nd time.

Thought it was good initially. On replay I agreed with the call. Which makes the eventual outcome that much sweeter.

It was no good. Barely.

Not that it would have made any difference, but this is the appropriate thread for me to express my dislike of their short uprights...

No kidding. considering how many other games must have some sort of issue with regards to close calls with uprights, you'd think we could maybe make them slightly taller for accuracy?

Even Aussie Rules Football has ginormous goal posts.

Went over the upright, no good. That's why the NFL went to taller uprights.

Who even started this whole freeze the kickers thing? I'd bet dollars to donuts that that **** doesn't work anyways, do coaches just do it so it feels like they did something?

QUESTION -- the timeout with 7 seconds left (before the Netten miss-that-didn't-count): who called it?

(lots of people on the board said it was ISU and got all worked up for allowing "too much time" to remain, but my friend said Iowa called it.)

Post game Cole said he heard the whistle before he kicked it. That might have affected his kick.

Iowa State called it, according to the ESPN play-by-play that is on their website.

I agree with you - should have waited until :03 or so. No harm in doing so, and if Iowa had somehow ran the kickoff back for a winning TD, it would have been a huge time management mistake.

Plus it just would have been cooler to have a walk-off FG win

Why hasn't EIU installed taller uprights?? They have dinky high school uprights. Hell, high school uprights might be taller than theirs now. GROW UP EIU!!!!!

Clearly a reflection of the collective manhood of Hawkeye nation.
