My mom is working a temporary promotion in Washington, D.C. In less than a week she will have dealt with the worst east coast earthquake in more than a century followed up with a hurricane. She's one tough lady.

I think it's hilarious people on the east coast having a good sense of honor about this.

I was very moved by the pictures. Do you know if someone is taking collections for people affected by the earth quake?

Hopefully we get more than a little rain! We are right on the edge of it right now. Supposed to stay the weekend at the Outer Banks next weekend...if it exists after Saturday.

My mother-in-law sent us a picture of a flower pot knocked over outside. However, due to recent squirrel activity around said flower pot, it is impossible at this time to pin the destruction on the earthquake.

Earthquakes AND squirrels? Those poor people.

Speaking of DC, I think it was on "How the States Got Their Shapes", someone said DC has Northern hospitality and Southern efficiency. I loved it.

My mom and dad live about 150 miles from where the quake originated. She said said she could hear a slight jiggling sound coming from a hutch in the kitchen. Then the cats came running to stare at the hutch also.
After a minute or 2 it stopped. They didn't know it was an earthquake until my brother called to check up on them.
