OU just announced they got a 5 kicker. I was curious, so I looked him up. He is not rated by 247. In Kohl’s Rankings he is rated the 17th best kicker in the class of 2022.

By comparison our two kickers in this class are both rated higher. Jace Gilbert is rated the 11th best kicker and the 6th best punter in 2022. Tyler Perkins is rated the 2nd best punter in the class of 2022.

According to recruiting websites he did not have an offer from the Hawks. That could be incorrect but I have yet to hear from any other source he did have an offer.

It is cool to see walk-ons commit so early in the recruiting process. These kids must really want to be a part of this program to forego other offers. I don’t think I would have been able to turn down a free education…

That's the big problem with hiring homers to be on the beat. Their bias gets in the way and you'll think that the team will land every big time recruit and get upset when Ricky Parks, Gunnar Helm, James Carnie or whoever doesn't commit David Bell, Thomas Fidone, the list just goes on and on lol

Best of luck to Matt - considering our 3 LB'ers in the class, i'm not too disappointed with this.
We always need one smaller LB usually that can fly and I think Carson Willich is that guy for us. His tape was really impressive with his speed.
