I was talking with my brother about this last night. I wonder if it would work better to add a fourth ref and have two on each side so they don't have to keep up with so much. I think it would probably be beneficial

I was thinking that also. Just keep two refs down on the baseline or something. Something has to be done. They just can’t keep up with the pace of the game

On Wisconsin
I believe he has a degree from Wisconsin (if I'm not mistaken). You would have him be a Tavern Cyclone? I bet he cheers for ISU in every other game.
Yes I do. And to be clear, Iowa State also doesn't have the program, so it's not like it was ever an option.

I cheer for Iowa State in every other game, and I'm probably more passionate about Iowa State sports. But I'm a Wisconsin alum and my general belief is that you should always cheer for your alma mater over your childhood team. So I'm not going to cheer against Wisconsin.

Also, I feel like a necessary part of being a "tavern ________" is that you're an ******* and you're only connection is that you cheer for the team and don't have any other connection to the school/don't care about the school as a whole. I'd like to think I'm not really an ******* (at least when it comes to sports fandoms), I have family connections to Iowa State and care about the university as a whole. Therefore, I'm not a tavern clone.

Sweet sixteen means way more to Iowa state than Wisconsin this year

Yeah, probably. But Wisconsin was picked to finish 10th in the Big 10 this year, so getting to the sweet 16 is still a major accomplishment. Plus, see above. A championship is such a big deal that it would overcome me being an alum.

Nothing Baylor has shown thus far today suggests they're capable of coming back. Surprising that they look so out of sorts.

I've changed my position. Nothing about Carolina's last 10 minutes of regulation suggests they can execute well enough to win in OT.

Well since my record is so sterling today, I'll aim for the trifecta and say that I don't see a way ISU can win against Wisconsin tomorrow.

We're at about two hours and 50 minutes for this game.

Not this game specifically but the scheduling yesterday in MKE seemed to be crap.

1st session should have been earlier to leave room for the transition and ISU's game felt like a time out or pause in action every 30 seconds.

Big 12's first loss and my hawk fan friends come out of their 46 hour hibernation to tell me they knew the Big 12 was full of frauds. Like clockwork, I tell you...

Did you tell them Baylor never really got to full strength and was up and down all season? And they weren't the darlings of college basketball entering the tourney?
