As far as the rest of the team, I think @demoncore1031 nailed it and @bozclone is even closer to the mark. The thing I like to think about over the summer is who are the guys who pop. Every year there's at least one surprise. Bacon, Stevo Klotz, etc. Guys you basically never heard of before the season starts. I have no clue who that guy is next year.

#2/RCB: Jontez Williams, Ryan Robinson Jr. (LSU transfer, had to look this one up) or Ta'Shawn James

Thoughts?

Defensive Thoughts: I LOVEEEEE Orange, TO, and JR at nose and 3 tech... Peterson has had shortcomings in a 3-man front, but in my opinion would excel in the LEO type role where he can go 1 on 1 more often. If Ike and Same can have big years, I think our shortcomings are CB are less of an issue. We probably won't feel good about CB until after watching the 10/5 game against Baylor, who is going away from the power run game and back to a spread first offense. Linebacker is fine, i'm less concerned than others, especially Bacon and McG.

Offense: Let Rocco cook!!! Pass to set up the run!!! Air Raid!!! Pay tribute to Mike Leach!!!! Get my point???

not sure why I thought Jaylon Jackson would be the backup RB or at least in the conversation.

Unless they only plan to use him more like Kene in the return game.

EDIT: to add the four man front could be really good this year when looking at the d-line depth. i think im most excited to see them in action to start the season

So someone that started for Princeton is now considered an automatic starter at ISU? Is our OL that bad?? You would think he’d have to beat some people out?
He was a two year starter there (no Princeton FB his freshman year due to COVID) playing quite a bit his sophomore year as well and was 2nd Team All conference in 2022. Was also 2nd Team All Conference in 2023 despite only playing 6 games due to injury. Would easily have been first team if not for the injury. He has a real shot to play on Sundays.

100%, our defense will go as far as the d-line takes us.

A couple of articles about Travis, both of which mention his NFL potential:

I learned in the second one that he's Reid Travis's brother. Some might remember him, as he played basketball at Stanford and Kentucky and was recruited by Hoiberg at one point.

The way we rotate guys in, especially on defense, you might want to do a 3 deep depth chart.

I think Alexander will be our #2 TE. Burkle and Keller will battle for the 3 spot.

You forgot Snyder at DE.

I like Neal at one tackle, but was kinda hoping someone would beat out Miller at the other tackle. But I’m far from an OL expert.

I know their uncle who was a 1,000 point scorer at UND BB. They are a very smart, very athletic family. I believe every one of Jalen's siblings is/was a college athlete.

Going to be Travis at LT, Neal at guard, Hufford at C.

I could speculate Neal at LG, Miller at RT but that’s speculation.

I was hoping for
LT - Travis
LG - Hasert
C - Hufford
RG - Black
RT - Miller
LT - Travis
LG - Hasert/Neal
C - Hufford
RG - Black
RT - Miller

Travis and Miller have ridiculous size. Hufford to Center is a very underrated story going into the season. Neal or Hasert will be the first man in and there should be no drop-off. Neal can sub in for a Tackle if need be. I feel like during this off-season the hype for the O Line has been lower than usual. That might mean that this year is the real deal.

I honestly don’t know how to read it this year. The other names I’m hearing are Buhr and Maro.

I kind of expect Hasert to start, but I don’t know where on the interior. He’s that good.

I wouldn’t be totally stunned if someone beat out Black.

I hate to get too excited about the OL, it's burned me before, but I feel like this OL could be very underrated. If Neal isn't starting that's a great sign because I've heard he'll be playing on Sundays someday.
