What scheduling formula? No one wants Indiana in the playoffs but Indiana fans

The protected rivals or whatever they call them. Some teams are guaranteed a couple cupcakes on their schedule each year.

The conference certainly wants Indiana in the playoffs. That’s a big paycheck

So moving on, with the Georgia QB out, anyone else think ND has a shot there? Georgia has a good defense, but their offense has been suspect at times. If ND can stop the run, I think they can pull off the upset.
Nope, Georgia will run all over them and their Dline will blow up ND’s. Game will be closer but that’s an easy Georgia win, ND gets annihilated by playoff caliber SEC teams

And Michigan finished 7-5 haha.

Honestly not sure how I feel about this because ESPN and the SEC will be POUNDING the table next year about strength of schedule and not wins/losses. Say hello to 9-3 SEC teams getting in.
Haha it didn’t take until next year. We made it to 13:00 left in the very first game of the playoff.

Ummm so is every school in every conference, Iowa is egregious but Indiana just has in state rival Purdue protected and usually most people would have said Indiana is the cupcake till this season

Yes, I do. I think the Irish have a GREAT shot - unless they are not capable of playing in 72 F in the Superdome. :)

I can jump on the Hoosiers shouldn't have been in the playoff based on their SOS bandwagon. I don't fault their Big10 schedule because schools don't control that aspect. I would have bumped the Hoosier because they didn't play a P4 team in their 3 non-con games.

That said, I don't like the break in the schedule. Just like bowl games, a 3 week break is a big deal for some offenses and can be a momentum killer.

Game ain't over, but the Hoosier offense that looked great in the Big10 has been non-existent. I also didn't realize their QB was at Ohio when they beat the Clones. Yea, Yea- I shouldn't have brought up such a BAD memory.

I do not know what the answer is, but IU's ridiculously weak schedule (especially OOC) should not have been overlooked for an at-large bid, and Alabama's, South Carolina's and Ole Miss' 3 losses should not be overlooked for an at-large bid either. The answer is somewhere in the middle, but where?

Feel like that will be a reality of the 12 team playoff. Every year the last couple at-large teams are going to have 2-3 losses, so good chance the final teams will have warts.

It's pretty amazing to think NIU beat ND and Bama loses to Vandy.

ND is the favorite in the look ahead line
Yep because their QB is out. ND was only a 6.5 favorite in this game but everyone knows how false that was.

Georgias QB was so bad this year that having the backup come in won’t be a big hit.

You should make a lot of money then, cuz the people that know this stuff the best disagree with you

Is this a thing? I get some people might do it but using a bowl game for a family vacation seems super weird. Maybe 10-15 years ago but now?
The savvy ND season tickets holders sold their tickets for $1,000 a piece, bought tickets to the Sugar Bowl, planned a nice trip to New Orleans and are at home right now, warm, cozy and dreaming about cafe au lait and beignets in a few weeks!
