If I had a boat load of money and I hated the sec would it be sporting of me to use it to blow up the roster of say Alabama or Georgia?
Excuse my ignorance: Are there any protections against say, the co-founder of a successful apparel company decimating the rosters of the potential CFP opponents of his favored school by offering massive NIL deals ahead of the 12/28 deadline?

Riley has lost 10 of his highest 12 recruits from 2022 and 2023.
Until the Bears and Jets announce who their new head coach is.. I have a slight bit of worry of Campbell leaving ISU. Riley jumped ship at OU when waters got choppy (because i dont think he's actually a good coach, and he just rode the coattails of the culture Stoops instilled until he saw the wheels were starting to fall off), and i'm afraid his time at USC will be fairly short as well - which does not bode well for Campbell staying at ISU (who turned down $6.5M a year from UNC - he was their top guy). Riley's name has been connected to the Bears open coaching position, and Campbell has been linked to USC in the past (and i believe he wanted to go there before Riley accepted the role), and to the Iowa State Jets.

I have as good a chance of becoming the head coach of the Bears as Lincoln Riley does.

That's about the only thing that would get E$ Peein's attention. And the rules changed... If suddenly the SEC got turned into ****-burgers.

C'mon Mega-Millions! Daddy needs a National Championship!

I would even pay them not to play and clean my boat and mow my lawn.

I get the feeling that even ESPN/SEC/B10 who created this mess of NIL & Conference realignment will have 2nd thoughts now that the *hi* has hit the fan. It won’t come from ESPN who is probably making good advertising money but will come from the Blue Bloods who lose players they paid for to other schools or overpay for players that don’t deliver. They also may start getting pressure from the $ugar Daddy who’s paying for a National Championship and doesn’t like being the bridesmaid.

Even if you got rich and donated $10 mil a year, how do you think that money would be spent? I can't see Campbell changing much with the way he brings in players.

I would love to add 10-12 transfers a year. Teams that are not top 50 in recruiting need to be top 50 in portal ratings just to keep up with the talent the other conference teams are bringing in.

ASU went from 3-9 to winning the conference and making the playoff because they loaded up on portal talent.

Short answer is yes, that would be tampering. But it happens all day every day and it's nearly impossible to prove.

These kids need to stop using the word, "Committed"in their announcements. Just drop it and say something like, "Heading to Enormous State! And also stop with the schmaltzy announcements that are like 15 lines of nonsense and then they say, "That said..."
