That sounds exactly like something that would happen with my friends.

Century club. Wow. I never did it, but I watched guys do it lots of times.Century club (100 shots of beer in 100 minutes).
I think the guys I was around had a designated "timer," usually a freshman who couldn't drink much...It works best if someone isn't stuck watching a clock. The 60 second song thing works well.
The worst is eating King Buffet before you do it. You get so full and feel awful and puke at the end.
really? There aren't stories in this thread that took place in public???
48 beers in 48 hours, **** that is possible me and my buddies used to have the stoli challenge which consisted of who can drink a thirty pack of Old Style in a night, i myself couldnt top 27 but my buddy could hurdle the bar and then some. so 48 beers ya i have seen it plenty

Worst/Best thing drinking challenge I have seen anyone do is 100 beers in 100 hours. Wasn't there the entire time obviously so they may have skipped some but watching them try to make up the beers per hour they missed during their sleep was quite humorous. So they claim to have done the 100 beers in 100 hours, I'm not sure they made all 100 but they had come pretty close from what I saw.

To speak to the original question, your average 6 ft. 180 lbs. weekend warrior is going to struggle mightily to even think about the 48/24 challenge, but I'm sure most of us have at least met a 6 ft. 9in. 300+ lbs. beer dumpster that could probably make a run at it. I've known several. Even in my "best" days 5-7 years ago getting 24 in 24 would have been tough.
